Pacers' turnover at end of game?
why did the indiana team not shoot the ball at the end of the game? when they got that 7th turnover from a shot-clock violation?
i'm sorry if this is a stupid question but i don't understand. i'm also sorry if it has been answered elsewhere but i don't have the time to slog through all this information. thank you for your time.

i guess
but if it was me and i wasnt trying to shoot (sometimes it's viewed as showing up the other team and bad sportsmanship to jack up a 3 at that point) i woulda just tossed the ball up in the air, because iirc its not a violation until the ball comes down without hitting the rim...so you could run off the time till it touched the ground or a player if im right

Because it is not about who has the best
The Pacers had the game won. There was no need to try to score another basket and show up the Blazers. They chose instead to run the clock out. The fact there was a .9 second difference between the game and shot clock was irrelevant.
