Some positives to take from a hard loss
Alright this loss made me sick for various reasons but I am trying to stay positive for Various reasons.
First things First LMA showed a lot tonight! He looked Awesome and even if had not caught fire with his long range jumper I would still be saying this, because of his D and offensive rebounding. He attacked the basket early and I loved it. I know we ragged on the guys for being soft at boston but tonight Lamarcus was anything but. If He can play with this attidute every night even when his mid range game isn't working this team will be so much more successful. So major props to LMA!
SERGIO! What a game he played! I think even know that stats probably don't suppourt it, he could have been MVP of the game for the blazers. He gave the team such a lift with his abilty to get in the lane and he really got the ball movement started. He was even effective at the rim! Even on his misses he was kind of setting up our bigs. By that I mean he was drawin all the attention and getting there bigs out of position by trying to block his shot. His high arching floaters had so much touch and were soft on the rim, it like they were just begging to be put back in by our bigs who thanks to sergio had positon. I honestly think there for a while he was what was keeping us in the game by drawing fouls and then hitting his free throws. Great Game for Sergio!
Lastly Rudy came out cold, but then got things going. He did a lot of things tonight like usual but I don't really care about the 3 or the two awesome allyoops. That is to be expected by now. What really got me excited was to see that he is getting better with the drive and sure he has a long ways to go but it is nice to see him slowly expanding his offensive game. I thikn once he gets more effective driving to the rim everything will come much easier for him and will really open up his 3 more. Rudys passing espically off the drive was also nice to see! He has shown the ability to make such great passes, but tonight I think he really showed what he is capable of.
These are just a few of the positive things that got me excited tonight! I know there were probably more but this is what really stuck out to me. I think these guys really showed another level to their respective games and even though we had a hard loss there are positives to be taken from it. I would like people to share their thoughts. Mostly keep it positive and don't turn it into a "Sergio should start bench blake" " Trade Travis" "nate game management sucks" theard. There are plently of those already out there. Not saying there is anything wrong with some of those just keep this one positive.Oh and please don't correct my typo's I know There are a lot. English and grammer weren't my best subjects ;)

Agreed
Turkoglu made a tough (lucky?) shot at the end. All of the good things and not so good things that the Blazers did to get to that point are not changed by the result of the final shot. They just need to keep improving in all aspects of the game and things will be alright.
Yes
That shot was lucky. I seriously doubt that he called bank.
Now we know how Houston felt when B-Roy hit the 31-footer. – Elgin

luck
there was very little skill in that shot. Don’t get me wrong, he is ugly, and can ball. But that was an ugly banker. Merry Christmas Turk.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Great game
It was just a terrible ending. Maybe a few more made free throws? Better 3 point D? More consistent officiating?
It was a very exciting game to watch.
And what a very lucky shot to get beat by.
If only....
They would have counted that Outlaw three that Roy got fouled on. Or if Roy would have made both of the free throws.

amazed every game
at how consistent Przy is.. and at his ability to really affect some of the dominant big men like Yao and Howard.
and at Roy.. wow.. that was the easiest going 30pts,9reb,5as,2blks anyone not named Lebron anyone has ever thrown down..

Yeah he has been great
I guess he didn’t come to mind because he has been doing all season. He really makes it difficult for teams to hurt us on the inside! Actually you know what how about his offensive play as of late. I mean its not awesome don’t get me wrong but he has actually been making some little hooks and a few moves here and their. That puts a lot of pressure on the other teams D if he can do a little of that here and there.
yea.. it has been refreshing
i don’t think anyone is going to be double teaming przy anytime soon but Roy, Rudy, Blake, and Sergio are all pretty good at finding the big guy deep and (I never thought I would say this) Oden should be taking some note on how efficiently Joel get his shots.

reminds me of the home Cleveland game last year
also a devastating loss that we should have had. Responding well will be key. A win over Utah Thursday, while very difficult to get, would be a major statement. Don’t bet against these Blazers.

I win would be nice.
yep, that one scares me but I think they can get it done. Even if they don’t win, i think they will be alright as long as they come out and give it everything they have. like you say a win would sure make a statement though! I am really excited for the game. Its on TnT I believe and that’s even better because i’m a sucker for Barkley and Kenny. I now people can make a strong argument that they are idiots but I love em. i have even been know to not watch the game (non blazers game of course) and just tune in for half time and post game.
Another positive aspect of the game:
Outlaw exhibited a couple of nice new moves on the way to the hoop. He is starting to be more methodical with his drives instead of just bulling his way dead down up the lane. If he can slow down regularly and make regular use of those up and under head fakes he will be much more effective. No question he is now in the process of adding another crucial element to his game.
"I would be in favor of trading LMA and Oden for a reliable starting PF at this point."

Lost to a good team
Orlando came in at 16-5 I thought it was a very entertaining game. Portland is not the only team in the nba that can hoist up a prayer at the end and hit it. If were going to lose a few at home I hope they all come against quality opponants like last nights.
The only negative I have with our squad is our D on the dribble drive do we have anyone that can stop penetration? Its kinda weird the refs are quick with the whistle when we do try and hunker down maybe its got out players a litttle shaken up?
I try to help with everything," Fernandez said. "If the coach says go rebound, I go rebound. I work for the team."
Not too many knee jerk reactions
i’m kinda happy about that…considering this was a game where you could make an argument a lot of people were to blame. Jquick wrote an article about Outlaw taking the loss pretty hard as he is taking responsibility for the final offensive play. The title of the article reads “Outlaw takes the blame, and McMillan concurs.” I don’t know how much of that is just media “spin” but that doesn’t really seem cool of Nate to throw Trout under a bus like that infront of the media…if it was behind closed doors or infront of the team…thats fine.
