A Day in New York
Last week I sad that we were about to begin a tour of five games and ten days total on the East coast. Now that we are about ready to return home, to Portland, I can tell you that the experience has been very interesting.
As a team, we were able to win three games, none of them easy. First in Detroit, a team that won a ring not that long ago and is always difficult to beat at their place. I didn’t play much, but we won the first game of the tour. Two days later we traveled to New York. As I said last week, I had never been before. It is a city that impressed me, and in this time of year, just before Christmas, the city is precious (Ed: beautiful). Madison Square Garden, the one that they say is the most famous stadium in the world, also impressed me. But the most incredible was the endorsement of the many Spaniards who came to see Sergio Rodriguez and now me.
When I jumped on the court they gave notice and started to shout my name. I felt like I was in the Rose Garden in Portland or like I was in Badalona (Ed: where Rudy played for Juventut Badelona of the Spanish ACB League). It was gratifying over all because we won the game, I was able to play some minutes and things went well for me on the court.
But the support of the Spanish fans did not end here. A day later, we played in Washington, and we met a group of 80 spaniards who came to see us. Again they made themselves known in the pavilion during the game and then, at the end, they waited for us in a group at the exit tunnel. We were chatting and taking photos and it was very nice. It’s really great that the fans of one’s country support you wherever you are, it always animates you. And, of course, we won this game as well, the third consecutive on our Eastern tour.
The next contest was in Boston, against the defending champions. And it remained clear why they are the champions. The Celtics dominated the entire game and won comfortably. I think it’s a game for us to learn from and that we have to keep working.
I'll translate more as they come.

Nice to see a real translation instead of the Google Linguomangulator.
"Now with a non-provocative footer!"
I went ahead and ran it thru the Linguomangulator anyway....ya know...for fun
This is what it said
We just spent 4 games on the road. Boy am I tired of being with these jerks continuously for that amount of time. We started in Detroit but I didn’t really get to take enough shots …..so I am ticked off even though we won the game. Next we went to New York City…..all I saw were prostitutes and muggers…also it smells really offensive, even though it was cold. Again we won but again I didn’t get enough shots…..plus there were a bunch of a Spainiards ….I thought when I came to the NBA I wouldn’t have to see those jerks anymore …oh well. Next came Washington….what a mess. The Washington Monument looks like a giant phallus. Plus …more Spaniards…..arrrrg! I had to spend an hour talking to them and pretending to gracious and accomodating. Plus I didn’t get enough shots. Boston came next …If I would have shot more I am positive we would have won …plus cigarettes are too expensive in Boston….jerks!!! Jerryd Bayless wears way too much aftershave. Anyway Merry Christmas to you all

Thanks for sharing
It sounds like Rudy gave up in the Boston game. I’ll chalk it up to a mistranslation.
I didn't read it that way
He was just acknowledging that they were outplayed by a better team. If he had said something like “we were never going to win that game anyway”, then I would start reading into it.
Besides, we saw the fight Rudy brings against clearly superior competition when competing in the Olympics. I don’t think there’s much give up in Rudy.

Will the day ever come
where people stop responding to your outlandish statements at face value?

It's his plain handle
If he called himself “TomTheProvacatuer” people would catch on.
Tom invites us all to roast our pets with him in his BBQ pit.
There once was a Sea’ Cap’n Nate
Whom with Blazers did negotiate.
The pool, t’was so deep!
"That KP don’t sleep."
Gold medals and rings were his fate.
I'd probably stop doing it if no one responded
I could make them even more obvious and say Oden is short or that Sergio can’t dribble. They’re also fun to do because they are subtle jabs at at the post-loss sky-is-falling FanPost. My Rudy comment was regarding the “Nate gave up” comments after the Boston loss.
Oh
I know exactly what your Rudy comment was regarding. It’s fun to read your most inflammatory statements like that Rudy one, cuz my first reaction is, “Hmmm…who or what is he trying to mock?” keeps one thinking, you know? :)

I didn't see those comments, I tend not to read people's reactions after losses
