B ROY wants payback
Brandon Roy Wants Payback
Brandon Roy
“I’ve been listening to that guy’s crap for eight years.”
That’s what Joel Przybilla had to say after KG and the Celtics “bullied” Portland around in Beantown last January. At that point, the Blazers were nine games over .500, 23-14. But they went on to lose 10 of their next 15 games after the L to Boston, losing both their confidence and their momentum.
So I’d imagine that the Blazers have this Friday’s game with Boston circled on their calendar. And it turns out, after putting the Wizards away for their sixth consecutive win last night, that’s exactly what Brandon Roy wanted to talk about.
“This is what we want,” Roy said. “This is where we want to be. I want it not only for this team, but for me personally. To see where I’m at, you know? To see where this team is at, to see where I can get this team to.”
That’s a good reason. But that’s definitely not the only reason that Roy is getting his troops ready for Friday.
“Now Roy wants to deliver his biggest boom,” writes Jason Quick, “ending the Celtics’ 10-game winning streak on Friday, in Boston. This game carries some deep-seeded emotion for the Blazers. Roy felt Kevin Garnett and the Celtics “punked” the Blazers last year with some bully tactics. You can be sure Roy will be raising his voice and subtly delivering that message in today’s practice in Boston.”
“It should be a good one,” Roy said with a smile. “I’m sure they know who we are, and that we are coming.”

Nice find.
Also, Brandon is a baller in that suit.

i don't know
if that is andy katz, but broy looks like a complete baller in the suit. I look for this game to show us how tough the blazers are, that’s why we have Billa, he’s like a Laimbeer(minus is 3point shooting abilities.) We need to get in their faces and show them we don’t back down, and send a message to the rest of the league. I can see oden throwing an elbow and watching Paul Pierces 3rd great acting performance, full of tears.

I want us to just beat them up
I want to be thugs against them. I want Oden to take KG’s skinny ass down to the ground.

Why is Brandon not wearing a belt with that suit?
I would never have expected such a faux pas from such a respected member of our team. I am dissapointed. He is such a downer, and a bust.

I think they were going for the casual summer look with the suit.
It works. Not every pair of suit pants needs a belt. Giving the single pleat and the similar colors, but different patterns of the sport coat and slacks I would say they were going for the mid-may hamptons beach suit look. Just a thought.

Man I hope we can get this
I go to school out of state so getting to see big games like this on TV pretty much makes my week. Both these teams come in hot and confident, but from what I hear from Roy, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes out there and burns the celtics for a win

I dont want to see our team get into a scuffle usually...but not against boston.
I would even be OK with a few game suspension to see our guys stand up to those schoolyard bullies. Cuz you know Boston depends on that image of tough guys that are gonna beat you up. I want to see some HARD fouls tomorrow night ( not hard enough to see anyone get hurt ).

i love that artikle
the fact that not all nba players get along perfectly is more then interesting, as it adds hidden dynamiks to it. players are getting up for certain games, and personaly motivated to do well. i thought i saw that with lamarcuses game against rasheed. if broy acts like that and insists that the team follow suit, we could be in for a real game hear. this is of course assuming that the rest of the team really look up to broy like we all think they do. now if the rest of the team comes out and plays well under the inspiration of roy, then we really have something, then we no that roy inspires, and that the troops will lift their game to play, that they not only believe that he can play well, but that they will follow him, so to speak as well. im rediculously excited to watch this drama unfold.
