Pryz hot and bothered

Last night there was a bit where Joel looked absolutely pissed, and it wasn't at the Celtics, but at Bayless. I was surprised that it wasn't mentioned in the post-game recaps on here. Anyone have a clue what happened that infuriated Joel so much?

I remember seeing that and talking with the guy next to me about it...

It looked like Joel was pointing to the far side of the court about something.

actually, he was mad at Sergio AND either Travis/Bayless

the ball got rotated to the top of the key. Sergio moved on to Pierce…Pierce broke him down to get to the lane with no weak side help…Pryz had to drop in try to stop Pierce and got his quick 2nd foul.

So he started yelling first at Sergio, then Travis and Rex.

Someone posted on the fanshot the replays of all NBA games…the game last night is on there in HD stream!!!

I still have the game on TiVo

so I went to replay that part but tv was on CSNW and the game replay was at that exact point – creepy. It’s about 11:00 in the 2nd quarter and Sergio brings the ball down. Joel is on the foul line right, Bayless & Diagu on the foul line stripes (Ike left, Bayless right.) Sergio goes left and Bayless moves to beyond the 3 pt line foul line extended. Travis has gone down court left side, crosses under the basket and goes to the corner right. Joel runs out to set a pick, Sergio goes around it (and 2 Celts) right, Joel rolls to the basket, Sergio gives him a bounce pass and he gets the shot up, but is fouled as 3 Celts are there. Joel puts up the shot at 10:43 and all this time Bayless has not moved other than a few feet one way or the other, all beyond the 3 pt line. After the whistle Joel goes right at Bayless gesturing to the left side of the court and I can lip read the word “block” – he is really angry. Sergio is there too, but Joel looks only at Bayless. He immediately walks away, probably to keep from saying anything else.. MBarrett said Joel was saying “this is the way the play is supposed to be run” and there was comment about him yelling at the guards. MB said he was “directing traffic” being vocal in Brandon’s absence. (But Brandon doesn’t usually play with Joel & Sergio, but hey…) Joel was still very angry and on the next play takes a charge but was in the restricted zone – he was sent flying. He goes out of the game still seething.

Yeah

that was awesome. I wouldn’t want to see that all the time, but I DO want to see it on occasion when it’s deserved. It was 100% at Bayless (as mentioned by Jorga) and Nate called bayless over to the sidelines for a quick chat as well.

I like the fire when used correctly and even sometimes incorrectly if nothing else to show that’s it’s there. As long as the team doesn’t tear itself apart playing with fire, but focuses it and uses it to get better/be better, then I’m good.

Fire in this game was needed and HUGE kudos for Pryz for having serious attitude out there while he was playing.

Greg Oden, where posters happen.

Lost

Serg and Bayless looked lost playing together. The play that Pryz was po’d at and others.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
