Agree with the Prezof Death

The last two games were fascinating. In the 1st, the 1st team stepped up and won it, and in the second, the second team bailed out the cold hands of the 1st. So, we won both games, even though last night was the one we should have, could have, didn’t lose. So, we got it out of our system. If tonight both teams come to play – the Wiz’s will wizz.

And asside from last nights 4th quarter, it was a bad show, so…….

I’m expecting 1/4 a bad quarter, and 3 3/4ths good quarters…I just hope the 1/4th bad quarter comes in the first half.

Tennis ball or hand grips.

George Foster (Former Red – 52 Hr’s in 77) used to
squeeze a tennis ball all day long. POP ! Get a new one
and start over. Very good for forearm strength.
Hand Grips – put a dime between the handles upon
compression and hold without the dime dropping. Try it !

The last time someone got over 10 steals in a game was in ’99. Additionally, according to http://nbahoopsonline.com/History/Leagues/NBA/moststealsinagame.html 10+ steals has happened 19 times in NBA history as well).

I don’t know. I keep trying to look under the covers to figure what KP might actually do, as opposed to what most of us “think” he’ll do once Webster comes back and we move downstream to the trade dead-line. Most of us look at the obvious, but I wonder if KP isn’t playing with his magic sticks, such as the ones he pulled out of the hat with Rudy and Batum. KP’s Ian Flemings version of the “Man with the Golden Gun – I mean Gut”. I think it would be great if he found someone under the radar that turned out to be just one more “steal”.

no, I like it.

The problem lately has been that the only guy who’s broadcasting Blazer games does it in a really low resolution, and he can’t get the sound loud enough. Last night I watched the game at a different link, and it was just like watching tv (except for the Nick homer announcers). Once in a while there’s a better broadcast on Justintv, so I always go there and check, but I’m hoping it’s somewhere else too is all.

I mean, usually, it’s justintv or that “adhe” thingy, which sometimes loads right for me – but not always.

What is the ceiling?

For this years Blazers team what is their ceiling? Above .500, 1st round playoffs, 2nd round playoffs or Western confrence finals.. Your thoughts

np… the expectations are HIGH… what are your thoughts?

by Ben. on Dec 3, 2008 1:14 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Ceiling?

Let’s assume that making it to the conference finals would mean:

a) Facing the L[xxx]rs there, and not before, and
b) Being able to beat anyone else in the conference in a seven-game series by then.

I’d say best case scenario, that’s doable.
So either that’s our ceiling, or our ceiling is higher.

Could we (at BEST) take La-La in a seven-game western conference finals?
How could I say “no”?

the ceiling is the title

we are going to get better and with some luck + injuries to other teams star players ( not that I wish it happens) we have a chance at the title.

I think besides the Lakers and Boston, we have above 35% chance of beating any team in a 7 games series ( no injuries). We’d probably need injuries to be champions.

Lucky.

I’m traveling Sat morning (we’re leaving at 4am for the airport!). We’ll be gone for a week too.

This is going to be a rare exception: I’m recording the game, and then checking the result. If the game is deemed worth watching (hope, hope!), I’m copying it to my computer or Zune for the cross-country plane ride.

Then I’ll be in FL for a week, where games start at 10:30. Argh!

Series notes
The Wizards have won three of the past four meetings in Washington. The Trail Blazers and Wizards are even, 19-19, in games played in Washington since the team moved there in 1974-75.

Player facts:

  • Steve Blake played college ball at the University of Maryland before spending his first two NBA seasons with the Wizards. Blake started alongside Washington Wizards guard Juan Dixon in the backcourt on Maryland’s 2002 National Championship team.
  • Juan Dixon played two seasons for Portland, averaging 10.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists from 2005-07 before being traded to Toronto.
  • Washington guard Antonio Daniels played for the Trail Blazers in 2002-03, averaging 3.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 67 games.

Ninth

Ninth Circle of Hell, from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Divine_Comedy#Ninth_Circle

The Ninth Circle is ringed by classical and Biblical giants. The giants are standing either on, or on a ledge above, the ninth circle of Hell, and are visible from the waist up at the ninth circle of the Malebolge. The giant Antaeus lowers Dante and Virgil into the pit that forms the ninth circle of Hell. (Canto XXXI) Traitors, distinguished from the “merely” fraudulent in that their acts involve betraying one in a special relationship to the betrayer, are frozen in a lake of ice known as Cocytus. Each group of traitors is encased in ice to a different depth, ranging from only the waist down to complete immersion. The circle is divided into four concentric zones.

Not to belabor the obvious, but the giants represent the Blazers, the traitors are the Wizards. Natch, the Wiz are mired in a cold streak.

Although I have us win one and lose one against Toronto anyway. And as yesterday has shown, we are not immune against giving up a game vs. a bottom team. Such as the Clippers.

Also, I have a hard time imagining who the Raptors and Wizards have in mind that would be better.

Seems to happen a lot. If the team was underplaying due to unhappiness with the coach, there’s an immediate turnaround.

If the team is underplaying because the GM shouldn’t have acquired Jermaine O’Neal and it’s hurting the team, no coach is going to help.

I was at a Wal Mart today and there was a bell ringer raising money for the Salvation Army as I entered the store. When I was exiting the store there was a father and daughter literally yelling at the bell ringer for accepting donations from a convicted child molester (I do not know how they knew this) but I was curious if other people think that it is just or is any donation a good donation when it comes to helping people? I think any donation is a good donation……

Maybe channel 788?

Last year they showed the very occasional game in HD on that channel. Has not happened yet this year that I can recall.

Am I reading this right

The line for Portland v Washington was -6; but now it’s closed to “pick em”?

Could be due to the events of last night

Could also just be a bit of an anomaly.

What's the mean?

“Pick em” means it’s a 50/50 toss up?

by Mortimer on Dec 3, 2008 4:08 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

it means

no line, that is, there are no points – it’s Portland -0. A -6 line means that in order to win on a bet for Portland, they need to win by more than 6 points.

M, period. Fresh, comma.
