How can we get Danny Granger?
I think he would be an incredible fit in P-Town. 32 points 5 assists, 4 boards tonight beating the Lakers. Avg 24.2, 5.5 rpg, 2.4 assists.
He signed a 5 year extension this year for somewhere between $60-64 million. ...so 12.8 mil/year. Do we have ANY shot at a trade to pick up Granger?
Solid person. Solid all star calliber talent at the 3. Travis+Martel+?

+1 for not cluttering up the fanposts
I would say there is a shot to get Granger. It would involve a LMA.

Why can't we just ask nicely?
Honey gets you a lot further than vinegar, dontchaknow.
I’m sure if we just made them a nice pie and asked nicely, they’d give us Granger for RLEC. It’s only fair. This is OUR time.

We could point out
how nice we were to give them Jarrett and Rush for two guys who never play, and maybe they would feel kindly towards us.
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.

Oh, another thing
We could toss in a second round pick or two. I think KP has some of those lying around in his garage.

Indiana would be nuts...
… to accept a Granger for LMA straight up swap. The package would start with LMA but certainly not end there.

agreed
they just locked him up to a long term extension before the season (just like we did with Martell), and while that doesn’t make a trade impossible, he does have the Poison Pill Provision, which makes trading him with someone of a similar salary impossible without including other parts from both teams.

I don't think you understand
Getting Granger would really help us, and so would keeping LMA.
Why would we trade him for Granger when we want to keep BOTH? Makes no sense.
It’s like you don’t get how stuff works. Other teams and their good players exist for our purposes only.

The simple answer is no.
I don’t see the point of trying to think of a way to get him though. Batum and Outlaw are doing a good job. Webster will hopefully come back from injury well too. We don’t need an All-Star player at every position. It’s not worth the effort concocting a way to get around the contract restrictions.

Bosh would provide us a consistent
post presence that we only have on occasion currently.

He would have been a great free agent signing, but unfortunately he extended
The Pacers are making him the face of their franchise, and both sides seem happy with it. Maybe one day he wants to win a title. Until then, he will stay where he is.

This is like
This is like another fan from some team ask how can we get Brandon Roy. Unless you are willing to give up more, it ain’t gonna happen.

he's just their best player, so of course they're eager to get rid of him
and their fans and local media would totally understand.

If NYK didn't value him so highly we could get him

Granger
Even if we did propose something the pacers liked Grangers contract has the dreaded poison pill clause this year which makes him officially no bueno.
