(Somewhat OT): Anyway to receive Blazer score updates by dialing a phone number?

Occassionally during the year, I find myself in some remote place where I have no access to either television or the internet to view a Blazers game.  Or, sometimes I'm travelling on the road when the game happens to be taking place and thus the same situation arises..  However, my heart burns to know how the team is doing.  All I have is my cell phone.

Another caveat is that I don't believe in text messaging.  I used to have it, but it occupied too much of my time, so I dropped it.  Thus, is there any phone number I can dial to know the score of a Blazer game?

Back in the 90s, one could dial some number to the oregonian and receive an update on a blazers score. I tried searching for this, but came up empty.

Thanks!

You can text Trail Blazers to GOOGLE (466453) and it should work. Sometimes it is hit or miss.

Texting google is a great resource is you need a score, phone number or address and you only have a regular cell phone.

everything i'm aware of

involves texting and getting text updates…

i don’t think there is a number for NBA/PTB updated scores these days..

I’d be surprised if Ben wanted to try and keep Blazer scores updated on the Batphone throughout a game..

Though texting Google has become my preference, you could also try calling TELL ME

They’re at 1800-555-8355 (TELL) – all you’ll need to do is speak the sport and team name you’re interested in, and they’ll give you the score. I think it updates a bit slower than Google’s text service does, but it’s better than nothing.

iphone

has a NICE sports app.

“Sportacular”

Let’s me check the various stats and calls via my phone at the game. I can’t see all of the stat boards where I sit and they don’t have all the stats anyway.

The app has many sports available, but I only care about the basketball and blazer specific. I highly recommend the app though if you have the iphone. It’s also free.

Greg Oden, where posters happen.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
