Seriously. I started to watch Husky Basketball, and noticed this guy who could get his shot off everytime, but recognized it wasn’t in the best interests for the team. Watching him grow at the UW got me excited about hoops again, and was quite happy he ended up in Portland. I will admit I never thought he would be an All-Star type player, however.

I know Wheels started calling BRoy “the natural,” but one of the bloggers/podcasters suggested this as his new nickname, and I’m all for it! He’s the reason this team is better than anyone (including us Blazer Maniacs) thought they would be, because he’s better than anyone (at least me) thought he ever would be, and he’s only in his 3rd season! And unlike “The Natural,” “The Reason” hasn’t been used before and isn’t taken from an old baseball movie.
The Truth? no The Answer? No The Reason? Boo Ya!
Let’s start a movement to change Roy’s nickname to “The Reason!”

this post reminds me...
of Magic Johnson. (I know, a forbidden L*kers reference. Nonetheless.)
There are a lot of similarities between their games. Magic, also, was an oversized guard, a great passer who didn’t want to be the point guard, a clutch shooter, a super competitor, a basketball genius. I hated him when he beat the Blazers, but I always respected him as a special player.
