Chock full o' Podcast
The (mostly) weekly podcast is back now that Gavin Dawson has returned from his week-long "working" vacation to Hawaii. Gavin, Casey Holdahl of the Center Court Blog and myself talk about the Orlando loss, Brandon Roy, Travis Outlaw, Blake and Rodriguez, Darius Miles, the importance of a strong game in the paint, cap space, the sports which translate best into video games, and a ton of other stuff reaching well over the hour mark.
You can download the podcast here or stream it from Casey's site through the link above.

I suspect
if you forward them your MySpace page both Casey and Gavin will be happy to come over and repeat the podcast to you word-for-word at a time convenient for you. That’s just the kind of guys they are.
Just make sure you strictly enforce the “3-foot podcasting rule”. They have a tendency to forget that one sometimes.

WOW....
Im cracking up.

Casey was off today...
He keeps giving Outlaw a pass on his deficiencies, including saying that he thought Outlaw had 20 against the Magic (he actually had 10). He also still talks about Sergio’s deficiencies on the defensive end, like he hasn’t improved no that end at all. Calling Sergio a liability on that end, based on this years action is just wrong.
It seems like Gavin has calmed down a lot. He, before the year started, constantly wanted to trade all our youth to be good THIS year. Maybe he understands better, after the Lakers and Celtics games that its just not going to happen for us this year (at least its not very likely).
Dave, spot on with your analysis of Oden’s passing… it seems like no acknowledges any of the good parts of Oden’s early season action. While, disappointing perhaps as a whole, there are plenty of positives to look at as building blocks.
You're right
I was wrong about Travis. My bad.
As far as Sergio goes, I should have prefaced the comment by saying that his defense has drastically improved, because it has, but that still doesn’t mean that Sergio is a great defensive player. I don’t think I’m going out on a limb to say its the weakest part of his game. I’d have to go back and listen, but I think I’m using the word “liability” in this case in relationship to the rest of his game, not so much that he’s a supreme defensive liability to the team in general. I really like what Sergio brings to the team.

I wrote a little about Sergio and his improved defense and 3 point shot yeserday if you want to check that out
You didn’t use the word liability, and its just the general feel of it whenever people talk about Sergio’s game. But… we’re a quarter of the way through the season, a fair sample size has been compiled, and declaring defensive deficiency in his game, when Steve Blake is the starter at that position isn’t warranted.
Sorry, I’m a rook here, and didn’t know you posted on BE.
I will check that out
Notice though that I was judging Sergio on his own merits, rather than comparing his defense to Blake’s.
And why apologize? You weren’t disrespectful or condescending. My opinion is no more right or wrong or valid than yours. We’re both fans.

Awesome
a Jerryd Bayless blog would be great. Man I love these podcasts.
Jaws were hitting the floor as Greg repeatedly attempted to tear the rim off the backboard...
YOU DON'T KNOW THE BAYLESS FACE?!?!?!?
priceless
Jaws were hitting the floor as Greg repeatedly attempted to tear the rim off the backboard...
That made me laugh so hard.
I loved it.
I wish that the blog was called “The Bayless Face.” That would be epic.
Casey, you have to make this happen. And we need an interview with the sweat wiper uppers. Do these two things for us and you will be BE Media MVP next year. Guaranteed.

All-Star ballot
I generally dislike when people say this but in this case I feel it’s justified: who cares? I discount the all-star team 100%. It’s a farce. So that’s why I don’t vote for any of our guys. It’s a popularity contest, not any measurement of basketball.
"Brandon Roy, that man is unstoppable, it's like he's playing NBA Live." - Anthony Carter
Yea
but the All-Star game is touted as the NBA game with all of the best NBA players in it. And is also the game that is most watched by borderline fans (the people who are close to regularly watching the games). To get more Blazer fans, and to be a part of what is considered the game with all of the NBA’s greatest players in it… I think its worth logging in and voting once a day. I mean it takes like 3 seconds.

You should also listen to KP on Meagher's podcast. Great stuff that somehow slips a little by today
Crazy
I had choke stuff to listen too. I didn’t want to listen to it after today’s game. I listened to the KP podcast first, then this one, and then the newest BS report. They all bring up the Blazers. KP sure is a swell guy.
Just listening to the BS Report now
This has been a great day for audio. Again, boredom stealthily avoided.
Marc Stein refuses to acknowledge how horrible that trade was. I wasn’t around these parts when there were rumors about this team possibly getting Harris, but on the board I was on, most Blazers wrongly were against it. Devin Harris on this team this year could have us as the 1D team of this years Championship possibilities. Whether or not it was ever a possibility in the first place.
Good to hear
Freeland potentially as part of the future of this team. We sure could use that backup PF that Freeland could possibly be.
my bayless face
primo name for a fantasy team, but Bayless would probably murder you with lasers if you suggested it to his face.
ha ha ha
Casey: “You don’t exactly want your first national exposure in the league to be as the guy that punched Kevin Garnett in the face.” So funny.
