Refs = terrible

Blazers inability to get the ball to the post = terrible. Roy not passing to a WIDE OPEN Rudy = priceless…assuming you’re a Jazz fan.

The two units were equally bad that half. On offense I’d like to see the ball go into Aldridge almost every time, and Oden a few times. We have a size advantage and are not using it.

He's got a point

Constitutionally there’s something called “executive privilege.” What it means is that as long as the president is doing something “in the course of his duties” he can’t be prosecuted criminally without being removed from office first. And impeachment is a political act, not legal.

by RipCity on Dec 11, 2008 8:47 PM PST reply actions

Halftime thoughts from a Jazz fan.

I will grant you that the officiating has not been good. But the Jazz are ahead because Okur is playing lights-out, the Blazers are shooting too many jump shots, and their defense has been lackluster when the Jazz commit to ball movement.

Blame the refs if you like, and I won’t disagree. But that’s not the whole story.

Uh, do you think you could draw me like a ninja?

Seriously though we need to take it inside, there’s no reason not to. The ball needs to go to Aldridge 75% of the time and work from there. And we need to defend the paint on the other end.

These refs suck and I’m sick of it. The NBA is gonna lose fans over crap like this.

I think there needs to be some kinda “camera ref” that can give a quick opinion. Slow the game down, I don’t care, just CALL IT RIGHT

God, I’m pissed.

This is nothing new in Utah

They got used to superstar treatment with Stockton and Malone and it has never changed. That, and Smeg Head Sloan trains every player to hack and slap on every defensive possession, and it desensitizes the refs from calling it because they see it every night.

Portland has lived with the 3 pointer

and now they are dying with it.

Some nights jumpers do not fall. And 3 pointers are even worse. Leading the League in 3 pointers is false gold. Teams do not win playoffs with jump shots and 3 point shooting. In the paint is where the money is.

in a broader sense. the jazz play dirty basketball. malone era teams did, and boozer era teams do. my childhood was semi-defined by a gash over brian grant’s eye thanks to a not-called malone elbow in the western conf. semis. it’s just ugly basketball.

however.

Malone's elbows

had minds of their own. I did feel bad about how wild he was with those, of course I did. And Stockton certainly bent the rules at times.

By and large, though, these Jazz don’t play that way. They foul a lot because they’re not great defenders, not because they’re dirty.

It's especially frustrating

to those victimized by Comcast who so look forward to these nationally televised games – only to then see the Blazers lay an egg. Gotta be a huge letdown.

But given the team’s brutal schedule, I really don’t think this game is indicative of all that much.

j/k…go Blazers!

Every child must be encouraged to get as much education as he has the ability to take. We want this not only for his sake-but for the nation's sake. Nothing matters more to the future of our country: not military preparations-for armed might is worthless if we lack the brain power to build a world of peace; not our productive economy-for we cannot sustain growth without trained manpower; not our democratic system of government-for freedom is fragile if citizens are ignorant.

Deron said I got his nose wrong, but they made me do it crappy like that so Gilbert could seem more “relate-able”.

I think Rose will be better quite soon. Plus Deron has ugly tatoos. Ugh.

I'm going to snooze because we looze

Honestly I think I’d rather have Williams

How did a Boozer

even wind up in a dry, god-fearing town like Salt Lake?

What kind of message does that send to the children?

I think they’ll let him go after this season. He’s ugly and Milsap is really good.

Some positives out of this game. Aldridge and Roy are clearly better than last year. Oden is improving,

If we just hit the 3 ball today the out come would have been very different. One game at a time.

It is a loss but it is to a top level team

not a bottom dweller. No one wins every game. Orlando is a top three level East Coast team. So 2 losses in a row should not be overly concerning.
Now the team has to get ready for the Clippers in 21 hours.

Rice was particulary senile tonight.

Made for an enjoyable watching experience. He had some great lines… left Barrett scratching his head.

Rice was very perceptive as usual.

He just could not remember where they were a few days ago after 5 road games in 8 or 9 days.
