One of the reasons I don't like all the "trade for Marbury" talk
So Stephon Marbury publicy lashes out at his coaches and teammates today.
"When things got bad and then worse, guys like Quentin Richardson say, 'I don't consider him a teammate. He let his teammates out to dry.' He didn't care I was his teammate when I was banished. They left me out for dead. It's like we're in a foxhole and I'm facing the other way. If I got shot in the head, at least you want to get shot by the enemy. I got shot in the head by my own guys in my foxhole. And they didn't even give me an honorable death."
Granted Marbury is on the wrong side of a bad situation so you can't blame him for being mad, however, I don't like him, his skill set and his ego on our team. I feel he could have been way more professional then this. When Marbury was an ellite PG in the league he thrived on controlling the game, he would definitely butt heads with Roy over this. Also I don't feel he can play like he once was able to; he seems to have lost a step. I feel, if it's a veterain PG we go for, we have much better options in Kidd and Bibby.

no one wants Marbury, it’s satire, mocking all the silly trade proposals.

Proposing a trade for Baron Davis was satire
Proposing the trade for Marbury was … something else. Hence Dave’s Booger Thesis.

IF we got Starbury
I would be perfectly fine if we got Nate Robinson coming here as well. RLEC, Outlaw & Bayless for Marbury, Wilson Chandler & Nate Robinson.

really, because I have seen a few I thought serious trade posts on here for it
I understand alot were jokes, but I also saw alot that seemed for real. I cringed everytime I read one, if its all sarcasm that makes it alot better

But in fairness, satire is supposed to be funny. The Trade For Marbury posts I saw weren’t.

Just leave it alone for a while
Blake, Sergio and (I hope) Bayless are finding themselves. It’s a bad time to mess with the chemistry. The end of the year is a much better time to evaluate the PG position.
by Kaboomm on Dec 1, 2008 10:26 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
Not a big deal
If you move a player like Bayless, Webster or Outlaw. Along with RLEC it really wouldn’t screw with our chemistry at all.

I put the quote in the junk drawer, but it should be in the running for NBA quote of the year
I have yet to figure out if he thinks his behind is in the foxhole or looking out, but it’s priceless and so typical of his weird 20 million dollar mind.

I agree with that
Also because Kidd and Bibby are both free agents, I feel a veterain at PG would help us emensly and one of them would be a good a pick up and possibly (hopefully) win us a championship! Either Bibby or Kidd could teach our young team alot and help run it until Bayless is in form to run a championship calliber team! The question is who of the current rotation is left out? I personally feel one of our PGs, SFs and PFs will not be on our team next year, how that happens is yet to be seen

Adding Marbury on purpose would be like putting a loaded handgun into your pocket and taking it into a nightclub and shooting your fool self in the leg.

I thought that was the Knicks?
Who is the next up-and-coming all-idiot team, as the Knicks are in fire-sale-for-2010 mode?

I thought of this a while back
Here’s the all time NBA starting 5 off the top of my head. Sheed gets the start at C, Dennis Rodman at PF, Ricky Davis at SF, Isiah Rider as the SG, and Stephon running point.
Alright, so maybe it’s just the starting 5 from my generation, not all time. Feel free to suggest roster moves.

Edits
Shawn Kemp as the sixth man? And maybe Stephen Jackson at the 3. Ricky Davis is crazy, but I think Jackson has officailly been in more trouble.

That depends.
Most single and double action autos are perfectly safe with a loaded magazine and the safety on.
It can become a bit dicier when you have a round up the snout – i.e. a round chambered. But again, if the safety is engaged, it shouldn’t be a problem.
I have less time with double action revolvers, but again, with the safety engaged, they are safe to carry. Single action revolvers present a problem as many do not have a safety, other than the half cock position on the hammer. It’s my understanding that anyone who regularly carried a SA did so with the hammer down on an empty chamber.
I have a bigger issue with being able to draw a handgun from one’s pocket. It is not exactly conducive to a smooth, fast draw. Too easy to get caught up on something. There is a reason people make, sell and buy holsters.

Well ...
i see what you are saying, but on the other hand, ANYTIME you walk, sit, bump into someone, you are jostling that loaded gun that at any moment could be pointed at your leg, groin, foot, friend, child’s head, cement, dog, dashboard, neighbor, etc.
It’s just asking for trouble.

Not that I don't agree with you...
… but you over estimate the possibility of an accidental discharge if the firearm is in the safe carry condition. A person is far more likely to get an accidental discharge handling the firearm than carrying it in his or her pocket.
Now, it said person is walking around with their hand in their pocket, then yes, the odds for an accident go up. In fact I’ve experienced such an event. On several occasions I’ve had an accidental discharge while walking around with my hand in my pocket. The solution was to quit cutting holes in them.

I have some experience with handguns
And I cannot visualise how anyone could fumble a Glock into an accidental discharge if it is safed but not impossible that he is stupid enough to carry it in his pocket with the safety off

Wait.
What about Nick Van Exel? He’s only 37 and he plays basketball the right way. No flashy plays, just solid defense and hard work. Nate would love him. Plus, he played with Raef in Denver. Those two have so much chemistry together, it would be unbelievable.
If the Blazers want to keep Raef happy they need to get him a friend on the team. Have you seen his body language lately? He hardly ever smiles anymore. Just wait until “Raef the Raefist” and “Nick the Quick” hit the court together. It’s going to be amazing.

Are there trade proposals at Laker’s blogs trying to consolidate talent?
by tominhawaii on Dec 1, 2008 4:21 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Blogs were little-known in '76
But they existed. And it’s a documented fact that numerous Blazer fans wanted to trade Maurice Lucas & Bill Walton for cash and a player to be named later.

Are you sure about this?
The part about blogs in 1976, I mean.
I am having difficulty figuring out how blogs could exist without the Web. In 1976 I don’t think even the Internet existed, just it’s predecessor DarpaNet.
(Although I’m starting to detect some of that hurryup humor – remember, I’m a former torpedoman – strong back and weak mind.)
