P.S. From Mr. Barrett himself, with credit to the Elias Sports Bureau who went through an enormous amount of work to figure this out:
For as long as the NBA has been including play-by-play information as part of its in-game Official Statistics package, neither of those things had happened before: eight points in the final 1.9 seconds (both teams combined) or five points in the final 1.9 seconds by a Blazers player.

Love this
“The Billy Ray Bates shot, that beat Philadelphia, has long been considered the most incredible finish to a game in Blazers history. I think we have a new one. That’s up for debate, but I know I have a new one. All things considered, this tops the list.”
Can’t disagree!!

Sergio's agent in Spain asks for a trade?
A Spanish “Newspaper” Marca alleges that Sergio’s agent in Spain, José Ortiz, has asked for a trade (article in Spanish) due to the lack of playing time. Marca is not a very reliable newspaper (they have published many rumors in the past), but they cite Sergio’s agent in Spain. Is it true?
Krangs Take
In my opinion it definently was one of the greatest finishes in Blazer history. If you consider we are in overtime, the shot made by Roy with 1.9 left, the 3 point play by Yao and then the amazing “The Natural” high arching .8 shot made by Roy you HAVE to consider the whole finish as one of the most dramatic ever. Even without slow motion that last shot seemed like it was in slow motion…beautiful.
However, and don’t crucify me for this because I don’t really care, I think it’s part of the game BUT does anyone think we got a “little” home cooking with the time keeper on that last shot? .8 and Brandon was able to catch about waist high while turning lift and release that beautiful shot. Sure he got it away before the light came on, but there isn’t really a good angle to see when the clock started and it seems to me Brandon got an extra beat to get that shot off. But I don’t care, even if he did it was still an amazing shot and an amazing end to a game.

I don't care either
We’ve been on the other end of it. I will say that our timekeeper was just doing his job.

Hollinger says they timed it and it was 1.6 seconds. But no one seems to up in arms about the whole thing. In a playoff game I’m sure there’d be a stink.

Link. The focus is mainly on why the Rockets should have won the game, and why they couldn’t pull it off.
Rusty bunch of Geezers?
That’s a little harsh on Houston. I credit The Blazers for playing a pretty good game for most of the game. The only “Geezer” like moment came right at the end when Houston let it be way too easy for Brandon to get the ball and reacted a second slow on defense instead of initiating the defense. That’s was more like an Alzheimers moment. Plus I have to agree with the TNT crew with .08 left having a huge but relatively slow Yao Ming guarding the inbounds passer was a waste. Brandon received the ball easily and had plenty of space to get that shot up, even if he didn’t have a lot of time. That was a mistake by Houston. But all in all, I hate to say it, but I thought both teams played hard.

Geezers?
T-Mac did fall asleep on that play, he should have been right on Roy. But I think that is one of the better shots they could have allowed. Yao defending the inbound pass wouldn’t allow anything inside for an Aldridge turnaround or lob to Rudy. Brandon made a nice shot from about 8 feet past the three point line. But I’ll take the odds on that shot anyday if I’m the Rockets.
