There team is STACKED

I am going back and forth Between them, Lakers and Hornets to win the west, but as of now if they stay healthy I give them the slight edge over both

Wow

I can’t believe so many are “Booking it”.

Are all of you who voted this way, factoring in Yao’s yearly broken foot? What about McGrady’s back?

If they make it to the post season unscathed, sure, they’ll probably make the second round. But if they’re counting on Artest to carry the team in the playoffs, it’ll be another first round exit.

+1

Way too much injury history to absolutely guarantee it. I think that LAL and Utah are going to meet in the WCF and NOH will be eliminated in the second round. That other semi-finals spot will be a battle between Houston, PHX and SAS, and it very well might come down to who’s the least banged up at the end of the season.

McGrady is going to hold up this season, you know why.......

…….. Because he’s on my fantasy team so, so, so he’s gotta for me! (lol)

good luck!

We haven't done anything yet... but don't blink.

by ratbastird on Nov 6, 2008 10:29 AM PST up reply actions

hahaha thanks

I’ve Pritch-slapped on a couple of trades to get some ballers so ill actually be fine if McGrady goes down, I kinda am pullin for them too, anybody but the Lakers or Spurs!

by Trail Ducker on Nov 6, 2008 10:34 AM PST up reply actions

Agreed

That Yao and McGrady are injury prone and that them staying healthy is the key.
But I “booked it” becuase…I’ve got a feeling. A feeling deep inside. Oh yeah

oh man

this team… could and should, but doesn’t… because…

There is no way you can book it with this team. that doesn’t stop Fatty, but I won’t do it.

We haven't done anything yet... but don't blink.

For our sake, I hope the Rockets go all the way

we're not really injury prone

MANY other teams have injuries as well.

We haven't done anything yet... but don't blink.

Rocket bench

I think their bench is lacking, any injuries to the starters would hurt this team in a major way.

by GUnit on Nov 6, 2008 11:14 AM PST reply actions

I booked it because I remeber last year when Yao went down

and I ran my mouth that we would pass them in the playoff race. Then they actually got better and were one of the winningest teams after the injury. McGrady and Yao may miss games, but they still seem to win. Artest makes them even better, but can he keep his head in it? IDK, but I can see them with a top 4 seed (either winning the SW or being the best second place team behind NO – they’re better than SA) and a first round win. After that, I don’t know.

by ***Jason*** on Nov 6, 2008 11:27 AM PST reply actions

They'd be a lock for the 2nd round without Yao

They’re an absolutely loaded, especially their interior. Scola, Landry, Dorsey, Hayes and then you have the perimeter defenders Artest and Battier. They couldn’t be a bad defensive team if they tried. Then you’ve got the always savvy presence of Brent Barry, and this team just looks like its made for the playoffs. As long as McLazy doesn’t go for long stretches of bad outside jumpers, this team will also be able to get good shots from all over. I can’t see them not being a top 3 team, and I don’t see many bad matchups for them of the West’s leftovers.

by as11osu on Nov 6, 2008 11:49 AM PST reply actions

I went with book it

simply because with Artest on the team, it lightens the load for Yao and T-mac. I think those guys are less likely to be injured with a 3rd option like Ron-Ron to help carry that team

D-U-H.

I would pencil them in for the second round

but I would neither pen them in or book it as that term is a little silly

Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

Yao seems to have proven that he can’t stay healthy for a whole season and McGrady might be out too. I agree with Artest that they are a better team but I don’t think you can say they will win a playoff series this early. With a top 3 seed and healthy McGrady they would have a very good chance but I am not convinced those things are going to happen yet because the season is too young.

Do not book it.
