DJ with the latest on Coach Lucas
Dwight reveals what Coach Lucas's mysterious illness is. I was surprised when Coach McMillan said this earlier today.
Continued best wishes to Big Luke.

This has been a bad year for lungs
I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and the doctor said at the time that this was the worst cold & flu season she’d seen in a while lung-wise. After some hard-core antibiotics and a little rest, I’m all better. Sounds as if Luke got the full-blown variety.
Get better, Luke!
glad you're doin' better
best wishes go out from me to Coach Lucas
get better dude.

Best remember the past.
To truly appreciate and understand the future.
With big MO’ we are only talking about the year 1977 forward. Too bad so many young men and women today will miss this point. As D.J. says quite clearly.
And I say say also, just as fervently…..with current, even more important events.
Welcome to the USA 2008.
The Oden Era, Day 497
the recent replays of 76-77 blazer games
showed anew how good maurice was, and how much thhat blazer team depended on him. he was by far the best shooter and seemed always to hit big shots — no wonder he was the leading scorer. bill walton has always talked about how much lucas helped him on the boards, how no one else helped him so much as a pro.
lucas is 56, close to 57, and pneumonia at that age is no joke. one tends to doubt that he’s been a smoker, so his lungs should be clear (though of course one never knows unless one asks).
it’s good to hear that he’s recovering; it’ll be nice to see him back with the team. i think he’s an extremely valuable coach, for aldridge and oden in particular, both of who need attention.
best wishes to you, luke. hope this is all behind you soon.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Luke a couple times
He was super-nice—and funny. My 5’ 1" wife accidentally bumped into Luke at a party, and big Luke put up his dukes like he was ready to go toe to toe with her. He’s a big teddy bear off the court. Get well soon, Luke!!
