11/30/08 @ Detroit Pistons
Good guys 96, Bad Boys 85
Trail Blazers 12 wins against 6 losses, in sole possession of 1st place in the Northwest Division
Nice road win for the Blazers and a big performance by GregZilla, especially Greg Oden who recorded his team-leading 5th double double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. GregZilla put up 14 points, 15 boards and 5 blocks while hitting some clutch free throws in the 4th quarter, finishing 6 of 8 from the charity stripe (not bad for a 7-foot, 2-headed monster).
GregZilla, with some great help from LaMarcus Aldridge, helped contain former Jail Blazer Rasheed Wallace to 11 points and merely 1 rebound. Noticeably, Wallace was riding the pine late in the 4th quarter when the Pistons still had a long-shot chance to come back.
This game featured a big man match up of former #1 overall picks as Oden faced Kwame Brown, a past top pick of general manager Michael Jordan. Brown was outplayed by G.O., finishing with 6 points and 2 rebounds.
The Pistons came into the game riding a 2 game win streak and ranked 2nd in the Central Division, 10th in the Sports Illustrated Power Rankings, as well as 10th in ESPN's Hollinger Power Rankings.
Our Portland Trail Blazers are currently in sole possession of 1st place in the Northwest Division. The Blazers came into the game tied ranked 8th in the SI Power Rankings and 4th in the Hollinger Power Rankings.
Next up, our shot-blocking, dunking monster will be roaming the hallowed court at Madison Square Garden, planning to take a big bite out of the Big Apple.

If Oden runs the floor vs Knicks
I see some Rims crashing down in the near future

disturbingly enough
Kwame Brown was getting deep position on at least one half of gregzilla (where is Joel’s name worked into that?). Luckily Kwame can neither catch or finish so it was not a big deal, but not a good sign.
Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

Excellent
Yes, what a monster the Blazers now have patroling the paint. And what a luxury to not watch each game on pins & needles, bracing for the sound of the whistle that will send your center to the bench. 12 fouls—count ‘em! That’s huge.
And it’s not just GO & Przy making the paint a scary place for opponents. LMA and Batum also have long arms and quick feet. It’s like a thicket in there! Did you see down the stretch tonight, how the Pistons were so spooked they started coughing the ball up or—that last time—failing to beat the 24-second clock? They’re looking for Greg Oden, and when he doesn’t get ’em, someone else does.
Wow. Gregzilla indeed— plus LaBatum!

Nice sig line
after a game like that….
Laughing about it yet?
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.

Greg looked really comfortable out there and was contesting shots the way we all know he can! Best of all, on his last trip to the line he had a face splitting grin while talking to Roy! I love it! oh and !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think thats because when he got fouled he was way under the basket
If he hadn’t been fouled he would have had to shoot it into the backboard or travel. Lucky break.

Whats sad
is that Oden leading our team in double doubles say more about Aldridge’s lack of rebounding that it does of Oden

LA often times was running back to get in position which was probably his direction , let Oden to the Rebounding

exaclty, both Joel and Greg can handle rebounding duties on their own. If you watch you see that LMA is almost always the first one down the court, i just wish that Blake could pass the ball to him to take advantage of it

LMA only got four boards tonight, but...
I thought he was active on the glass. That’s the key. Doesn’t matter who comes down with it – Roy and Batum seemed to snag a few – as long as he’s hitting the offensive glass hard and not giving up defensive boards to opposing PFs. Wallace was held in check, LMA kept the ball alive a few times on O and played a physical game overall. Good signs all around, I thought.
Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?
Frye: He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors.
