I don't know.
Conley hasn’t shown enough for me to merit that kind of trade. Sure, he and Oden will have lots of chemistry together but I still don’t know if that’s enough.
Plus, we’d have so many guards if we did a trade straight-up. That means, we’d likely give up a guard (Sergio? Bayless? Blake?) with Trout for Conley and another guy. Not sure how the numbers would work but that’s my guess.

The Memphis Grizzlies won't give up that easily on Mike Conley, Jr.
Aside from that, however, I’ve got mixed feelings regarding Conley, Jr. Thus far into his career, Conley, Jr. has yet to develop sufficient efficiency on his mid-range jump shot or from beyond the arc; additionally, he doesn’t drive to the rack often enough and constantly plays matador defense along the perimeter.
Conley, Jr. isn’t too proficient of a playmaker, either. As it was, he averaged just 7.7 assists per 48 minutes and, according to 82games.com, had a measly passing rating of 9.2 last season — which caused the god-awful Jeff McInnis to be his closest comparison — thus, I’m not sold on him as a competent floor general.

this has got to be the 8th post on this subject
sorry if I sound like a jerk for pointing this out.
Afew years ago, a broadcaster once said Pryzbilla's name is "Polish for 'personal foul.'" Ouch.

True, but Dwight's blog post was from today which makes it relevant.

hmm
I didn’t want us to trade for conley back during the draft. I didn’t think he would be worth the price we would have to pay to get him. I still am not convinced he will be that great in the end, but if it is just Trout for Conley, I think I may want to take the chance. If it pays off it could be huge for us. Do we not resign blake if this works out?

Tonight on Courtside
Mike B, Mike R, Brian Wheeler, and Henry Abbott laughed at this crazy proposal and said it’s bad speculation.

And Mike Conley Jr. is friends with Oden
So let’s ignore the fact that undersized almost never succeed in the NBA and Conley hasn’t done a thing to counter that fact.
Let’s go get him!

He was drafted way too high
i think people saw tony parker in the finals and saw him being someone like that.

Has anyone seen Conley play in the NBA yet?
I haven’t. But he is getting some playing time (25.9 minutes per game), albeit on a lottery team. But he does have to battle Lowery and Crittenton for minutes.
Is he a better long term solution at point guard than Bayless?

Don't know
But he is a different type of guard due to his size and skills, closer to a pure point guard. Bayless could develop into a combo guard with a focus on scoring ability and some point guard skills a la Monta Ellis, Dwayne Wade, Gilbert Arenas, or Roy (not necessarily of a player of that caliber, just a comparison). Conley is closer to a TJ Ford or Chris Paul (again, probably not of that quality).
