TrueHoop: What Happens to Portland When Oden is in?
Henry finds that, in addition to a higher turnover rate and an uptick in opponent FG% Oden's teammates shoot just 35% from the floor when he is in.
Why is this? Are we taking worse shots when Greg is in than when Joel is in or is this just a fluke that will correct itself? I'm going to try to figure this out in the next few games.

interesting.
Makes me think Oden’s problems aren’t Oden’s problems, they’re the team’s.
This team has 101 offensive options, but when Oden’s out there, it’s like he’s the only one. Wouldn’t it be better — for now — if they just played like he was Joelzilla out there? Joel is NOT an offensive option, but he gets 6-10 every night on putbacks and easy dunks. Oden would get the same, for sure. And a few easy dunks, putbacks, a high FG%, another 20-10 or two, would boost his confidence, calm his nerves, and help him to do the other things offensively he’s capable of.

Seems like Blake especially forces it to Oden.
Congratulations. Nate McMillan has Sergio defending !

One word,

To me the simple fact is that as of this time we are not that good at spacing the floor and are getting caught watching, as so many people have said.
That out of the way, it is not a problem if you are standing around if you are correctly spaced far enough away so that your an cannot slough off and 2x Greg or will impede any cutters into the lane. You must also be sure to be in a position so that either Greg of the low post player has a line of sight to you and will not have to make a Maravich pass to get the ball to you.
With a team this young, that will be the biggest thing is working on spacing. You see it sputtering up here and there but there is still work to be done. Strangely enough last night I saw Tavis have a great play when he drove left baseline, saw 2-3 players in front of him, and whisked a pass to a wide open Frye in the corner for a 3.
We are getting there and remember we were not supposed to have our 9th win until the middle of Dec remember?
