OT: My Introduction

(this is my first real post so if this is in the wrong place or I titled it wrong, please let me know... thanks!)

My Newfound Love

I'm surprised to find myself here, getting involved, recognizing familiar screen names already, learning new things about Blazers and basketball in general.  A few months ago, if anyone had told me I would be here making a post on a basketball fan site I would've thought they had flipped their lid.  But, here I am... a girl who has a newfound love for an amazing man, as well as the sport of basketball... and for the Blazers in particular.

My interest began the day I met my new boyfriend.  He frequents Bedge on a daily basis and declared to me pretty much the day we met that I would be required to love the Blazers or it just might be a deal breaker.  At the time, I was a little taken back by that, and said I would be happy to support him in his love for the Blazers and that I was willing to learn about them and watch games with him, but little did I know that I would so quickly develop a love of my own for them.  Now I'm hooked!

So here I am, eagerly learning more each day, realizing what an amazing time this is to become a Blazers' fan and getting to see the team come together and stun audiences with such things as the .8 second miracle shot by Broy (I knew that play was magical the second I saw it, even before I knew much about bball), Oden's arrival and growth as a Blazer unfolding before our eyes, and the magic of players like Broy and Rudy (whom I like to refer to as Rudy Patootie).  I simply can't help but fall more in love with my boyfriend, the Blazers and this site every step of the way.  I cherish watching each and every game with my boyfriend, rooting my new team to victory and sharing our passion for the Blazers together.  I also adore reading everyone's articles here and getting your perspectives on the players, the games of past, present and future and the Blazers as a whole.

Taking it all in, I just can't help but think the Blazers' future is so bright that we may need to invest in some kickbutt sunglasses, folks.  ;)

Welcome to BlazersEdge.. But..

We already have a junk drawer for today :p
You should edit the title and have it be tomorrow junk drawer, and no one will be the wiser!

But welcome to the site none the less, glad you found someone who likes such a great team.

thanks for the welcome and the help ;)

Is it ok to post something like this and just call it “My Introduction”?

I’m really glad to be here and in such good company.

Took interest for him and quickly realized I fell in love with the Blazers, too. How could I not? ;)

That would be fine

Introductions are always welcome, but watch out for the fan post police, they are a nasty bunch!

yeh for real...some girls just don't get it

A typical conversation between me and my gf a good friend of mine:

Girl: So what you up to?

Me: Watching the Blazer game

Girl: They winning?

(I let the fact that she used “they” instead of “we” slide)

Me: Yeah, we’re winning. Greg Oden isn’t having too hot of a game, but at least we’re up.

Girl: Who’s he?

Me: He’s a draft pick we got two years ago. He’s been hurt, and now he’s finally starting to play. He’s gonna’ be really good.

Girl: Oh yeah, I think I heard about him. Didn’t they get him like two years ago?

Me: Yeah, something like that. We picked him up with the number one draft choice.

[awkward silence]

Girl: Well, hope they win…have fun watching Greg Odom!

Me: It’s Oden.

[another awkward silence]

Girl: Ok, well I gotta’ go…bye!

Me: See ya’.

Me: Dang… who’s number 11?

Her: Sergio.

Me: And who was number five again?

Her: Rudy.

Me: And who’s number 7…

Her: OMG what’s WRONG WITH YOU today??? ROY!

Me: hehehe… yeah… i know… you’re so hot… it’s half time… wanna…

(curtains come down and lights go black and the suggestion hangs in the air)

(Curtains rise and lights come on and the BF and GF are shooting hoops at the park.)

Wait… what? What were you thinking?

I didn’t think anyone else watched that show! I usually just put it on the headphones at work, pretty great stuff though, and they are way into what they discuss. I had a disagreement with dan about a movie list he did once, and emailed him about it and we went back and forth a whole bunch, it was pretty cool to hear what his take was, He really knows his movies.

This is the story I made up

I spent last night in the emergency room. Luckily I still have health insurance, because my insurance does not expire until the end of October. Last night sucked because I sure do hate hospitals.

At about 8:00 PM last nigh I felt like I was going to faint every time I stood up, I had a sunburn like rash, I was achy, I was vomiting, and I had diarrhea. Neither Khara nor I knew what was wrong with me.

When we went to the emergency room the doctor was asking me if I ate something or if there was anything else that might have triggered me getting sick. I could not think of anything that would have made me sick so the whole event was pretty freaky.

The doctor looked me over and then had me get into a hospital gown. He was checking me out all over and then he found a little white string hanging out of my butt. I about fainted again when I realized what it was.

You see, I have often said that women are so lucky to have their period instead of having to shave their face every day. Shaving is such a pain in the ass and a period only happens for a one week a month or 12 weeks a years. That is far less of a hassle than shaving your face every morning.

Earlier in the day Khara and I were having the shaving/menstruation discussion and Khara was playing the cramp card. I know cramps and menstruation is just an excuse for women to be a bitch three weeks out of the month. If men had periods, women would not let them play the cramp card.

Well to prove to Khara that dealing with a period is not that big of a deal I took matters into my own hands. I started by washing my hands and then I got into a comfortable position.

Most women either sit on the toilet with their knees apart, squat slightly with their knees bent, or stand with one foot on the toilet seat. I went with the one foot on the toilet seat.

Then I inserted the applicator into my anus at approximately a 45 degree angle. I had to push the outer insertion tube all the way into my anus until my fingers were touching my body.

Next I pushed the inner tube with my pointer finger all the way into the outer tube and then I removed the inner and outer tube at the same time and flushed the applicator. The tampon was comfortably inside me with the removal string hanging outside my body.

I spent the rest of the day kicking back and forgot all about the tampon. If the tampon is inserted properly, then there should not be any discomfort.

Well, I was standing there with the doctor and Khara was laughing and I was still feeling very sick. I went into the bathroom and sat on the toilet with my knees apart. I kept my muscles relaxed and the pulled the string gently with a steady downward motion at the same angle that I inserted the tampon. Then I simply flushed the tampon away.

Removing the tampon did not make me feel any better but at least I knew what was wrong with me. I was not paying attention to my flow and I put in a higher absorbency tampon than what was needed. This caused me experience Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).

Toxic Shot Syndrome is a rare but serious and sometimes fatal disease associated with tampon use. About half the cases of TSS are associated with tampon use. The remainder of TSS cases occurs in men, children, and women who are not menstruating. I was one of the ultra-rare cases that occur in men with a tampon in their rectum.

I tried to explain to the doctor why I had a tampon in my ass and I think he believed me as to why I put a tampon in my ass. He had me stay a while longer at the hospital and made me drink plenty of fluids. Before he would let me leave, he had me talk to a shrink.

I explained everything to the shrink and he thought I was a little nuts. He had to make sure I was not trying to kill myself and I explained that I would have tried to kill myself in a lot quicker and more painless way.

They finally let me out of the hospital at about 4:00 AM and I went home and slept. I must give mad props to Khara for putting up with all of my shenanigans and staying with me in the hospital until they let me out. I think I learned a less on as well.

I learned that I should have used a less absorbent tampon and I should have changed my tampon every four to eight hours. I also might not have had TSS if I would have alternated my tampon use with a feminine pad.

I still think having a period once a month is less of a pain in the ass than shaving my face every day. Of course now that I am unemployed I do not shave every day.

Do you actually use less letters?

Even if you use less letters, it takes longer to read because we have to translate it and figure out what you’re saying. It’s actually kind of annoying.

I was thinking the same thing. It’s one thing 2 use the number 2 rather than “to” because it has less letters and easily translates however that is not the case w/ what you type. Not a big deal, I just wanted toknow why you type that way. It is what it is however, :) You dont say moronic things and aren’t a troll I was just a bit baffled.

When you get involved in an online community, you have mental images of what people look like (unless you have an actual picture… like tominhawaii who right now has a pic of himself in a jersey showing his bald dome).

After reading some of your teehehe’s and what not, I can’t NOT stop picturing a 45 year old, pot bellied man with Pau Gasol facial hair sitting in front of the glowing screen in his white wife beater and white boxers… the classic Blogger.

So now I’m with Jscot… until I have verifiable evidence from your “poster” boyfriend to vouch for you, I think you’re a man.

I don’t care if you are a man, that’s still cool and everything. It’s just a little weirder since you’re trying to come across as a gal.

Welcome, either way. You’ve picked a great time to get sucked in… it’s gonna be a helluva ride!

I promise I'm all female guys!

I’m just leaving it up to my bf to make himself known on here cuz this has been his stomping grounds well before I ever came on board. I’m not trying to be all mysterious or anything. I don’t think it will be long before people figure out who he is. Besides, how many 45 yr old pot bellied men with facial hair in a wife beater and boxers do YOU know that giggle and say hehehe? lol I sure don’t know any!

I’m not “trying to come across as a gal”. I’m just being me. I like to laugh and make others smile and laugh. I love witty banter. Hopefully I’ll prove myself to you over time. Until then… hope you enjoy the thread.

I never said he was a man

I said he she was 73 years old

The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
