Schedule and Stats
As of Sunday, the Blazers have withstood a brutal, almost inhuman schedule. Out of their 14 games, 8 have been against teams that were in the playoffs last year. Last year those teams had a combine winning percentage of 67% (which equates to a 55-27 record).
Oh, that was last year you say? Well, those same teams this year haven't dropped off at all. They are on pace to win 66% of their games (a 54-28 record). A whopping one game difference. (the statisticians out there can point out a flaw here but just go with it nerds!)
Now sure, it's still early. (so early in fact that Seattle, errrr, Oklahoma City isn't mathematically out of it yet). But I for one feel awesome about our start. We are currently on pace to win 47 even after the stiff competition and plethora of back-to-backs. I had originally projected us to win 48 games this year and put our stamp on that 8 spot. I now feel confident adding a few games to that total. I also wouldn't feel too bad about thinking maybe we can challenge for the division.
Your opinions would be......?

I'm sticking with 50-32
If we don’t play down to the competition, this shouldn’t be a problem. My secret formula is (win games you’re supposed to win) + (win most of your home games) + (win about half of your road games) + (win some games you probably shouldn’t) = playoffs.
I am very encouraged by the record achieved with this difficult of a schedule.

Easy + 50 win season
The sooner they can move Oden into the starting 5 the more success we will have!
50+
BTW, did you see nice schedule the league gave to the L*kers.
10 of the first 15 at home (with one of the roadies at the Clippers.) Do ya think the NBA wanted them in first place throughout the season?
Remains to be seen if that is an advantage.
The back-loaded schedule worked for Boston last year I think because it gave their new stars time to mesh. The Lakers however are mostly familiar with each other and are reaping the benefits of an easy schedule thus far. The NBA season isn’t a sprint to the finish, it’s a marathon, and the Lakers have some tough stretches ahead. We’ll see if they can stay the undisputed kings of the West through the tougher times.

L@kers needed to mesh, too
With the Gasol/Bynum/Odom mess. The easy front-loaded schedule is probably helping them.
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.
