Believe in the stats or not this feels good!

With tonight's loss I figured some good news was in order

This has been unheard of until as of late:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds

As of this moment 99% to get into the playoffs, 67.7% chance to win division, 11.3% chance to get into the finals, 6.1% chance of winning it all.  I don't expect these odds to hold, too green still, but my smile is huge all the same.

Hollinger - still don't know what to make of him

He is like a guy who screams “The world is coming to an end in 2010” – if he’s right, then what? and if he’s wrong, do we ever hear from him again? (Okay, so maybe Hollinger isn’t exactly like that guy).

I’d like to know how well his playoff percentages predicted the actual playoff teams at this point last season. It seems to me we were predicted to make the playoffs with quite certainty until around mid-late January, then it started to unravel.

He has alot of theories and predictions, I just want to know if anyone, including him, goes back to keep score on what is accurate and what is just pandering to those of us who have to know the future.

For future reference, 12/21/2012 is thought to be the end times by many conspiracy theorists.

Though, I’m sure that there’s several crazies around who think that the world is doomed come 2010.

The world came to an end

at 8:08:08 GMT on 8/8 in the Year of Our Lord (anno domini, also known as A.D.) 2008.

Since Christ was actually probably born in 4 B.C., that means the world ended over four years ago, but because the calendar got messed up by some Gregorian monk back in the early Middle Ages, people weren’t paying attention at the time, so nobody noticed.

It all gives added meaning to the phrase, “Carry on….”

The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.

some people think 2012 is the end of days because

it is the last date of the mayan calender, which has been so far the most accurate ancient calender.

Isn't that when the BCS contract ends?

That alone could cause every college town in America to riot like Detroit fans after winning a championship.

Excellent. I was hoping things would get better by then.

"But we need a center", Inman said. "So play him at center!" Knight yelled back. - Bobby Knight on Michael Jordan prior to the Blazers' 1984 draft pick of Sam Bowie.

Some people think 2012 is the end of days because

Obama will have to stand for re-election.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
