OT: Funny! Sarah Palin giving an interview for her annual Turkey pardoning. From CNN, "the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving."
However, the photo-op didn't quite turn out the way I think she wanted...notice the Turkey being slaughtered in the background as Sarah Palin gives her interview.
Can anyone come up with a caption for this video? I'm thinking "Joe the farmer. Really a farmer or part of the liberal media elite?"...I know lame. Hopefully, you can some up with something better.
Disclaimer: I'm not trying to make a political statement...just a little humor.

I think more videos of politicians
should include animals dying as about 50% of the image space.

c'mon man
the election is over and this is a basketball site.
There are so many good things about the blazers that we can write about.
Why don’t we stick with them?

I hope you read my post...
I was just sharing something I found funny in the ironic sense, not me espousing my political preference. If there was a video of this happening to Paul Allen I would find it funny too and probably post it. For topics such as this, Dave allows OT posts and Junk Drawer posts.
So, why are you picking this particular post to criticize? There is a fanshot right below mine about a good looking female reporter and 3 consecutive fanshots all dedicated to “Bo” Outlaw. Is what I posted so much more off-topic or unneccessary than those? Dave, the moderator of this site, had a whole post aimed at giving professional wrestling personas to the Portland media personalities.
FYI: sometimes there are silly posts on this site that really do not have much to do with the game. It was my understanding that when we post something of this nature, we can mark it OT or post it in the Junk Drawer, which is what I did. By and large, most of the posts are about the game. And yes, you are right. There are many good things we can write about the Blazers. Let’s hope this continues tonight after the game with Phoenix.

Thanks, that is really funny
Brings across the uselessness of saving one turkey when everybody knows what they are kept for. Her handlers screwed up not checking the background. The guy was there with his turkey the whole time – the cameraman probably didn’t say a thing and just kept rolling :)
Also giving TV interviews with a coffee cup in her hand is a little strange. Politically that video should have no consequences, apart from maybe Peta hating her. And maybe it shows up on the Daily Show.

Just saw a Leno clip about this video
He quipped that after the turkey heard Palins voice it was begging to be killed. I thought that was funny.
As to the she’s a hunter topic, well, the average American is not eating a bird that some hunter has gone out in the woods and shotgunned, rather they come from ginormous bird farms where they are raised en mass and slaughtered. I’d trust her in the woods with a gun as much as I would Dick Cheney.
Nice OFF TOPIC post JT.

I'm sorry I misread you.
The hunter comment had more to do with her perceived callousness by the masses. It had nothing to do with how the animals are being killed. Sorry, that you took it that way. When hunting is a way of life (and it is for a great many Alaskans — but certainly not all) one looks at the world from a perspective. When the idea of hunting is foreign to you, one looks at the world from a different perspective.

One should remember that she is a hunter.
The average American doesn’t want to think about where the bird comes from. Just serve it up and make sure that there is enough for seconds most would say. I’m not a hunter, but I know plenty of them. Most have a healthy understanding about what killing for food means. (As opposed to the stereotyped hick that just shoots any gun randomly for no reason.)
I find it humorous that someone on her staff didn’t figure out that the “rest” of country would think that this shows a callousness on Gov. Palin’s part.
It is funny when you step away from it, but I find this about as humorous as Vice President Elect asking a man in a wheelchair to stand up. It wasn’t Biden’s fault, he should have someone there telling him beforehand.
I could post that youtube video too, but you can find it easily if you want to.

Biden is classic!
He’s got stretch marks around his lips from sticking his foot in there so much.
