Christmas coming soon
With the Blazers Salary cap space comming soon.Who do you think the Blazers should sign.I say hold it and wait for 2010.The list of free agents in 2010 is very impressive.Keep in mind our depth may play a huge factor in a big trade. Labron is probably going to the Knicks but Bosh is still out there.Does anyone know when Tony Parker is a free agent?A point guard like Tony would Put P-Town in the finals for sure!

We can't hold our capspace
till ‘10, it’s ’09 only. We gotta extend Roy/LMA.

You can't hold it.
1. Gerald Wallace- One of the best defenders in the league. Scrappy. Almost a perfect fit.
2. Kirk Hinrich- He should be healthy again by the trade deadline. He’s the Bulls best perimeter defender and would probably be ours too. Not the biggest upgrade in the world, but an upgrade none the less.
3. Devin Harris- The best fit, but not really available. If the Nets want to compete with the Knicks in the free agent race they are going to have to shed some salary. Maybe it could happen, but not likely.
I would rather get a point guard, but I doubt that’s going to happen.

BLAH
Wallace is risky…
Wallace suffered a Grade 3 concussion on February 23, 2008 after taking an unintentional elbow to the face from Sacramento’s Mikki Moore.2 It was his fourth concussion in as many seasons with the Bobcats.2 It was not clear when he would return,2 although Grade 3 concussions are defined by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons as ones that “involve post-traumatic amnesia for more than 24 hours or unconsciousness for more than five minutes. Players who sustain this grade of brain injury should be sidelined for at least one month, after which they can return to play if they are asymptomatic for one week.”3
From Wikipedia, it cites sources as well. To lazy to link? yes I am.
Heinrich could work… His contract is LARGE… If we went with him, Sergio would probably be gone. We could try to keep Bayless around and once Heinrich is gone, hopefully PetKo will be over here on the roster by then. Thats a big if since KP might not want to make the move because of what Sergio could become. I know I am excited by what I see. With Brandon Roy, Rudy & everyone helping him along, he should continue to improve to a level where he could start & flourish.
Acquire Serge Ibaka.

WRONG!
2. Kirk Hinrich- He should be healthy again by the trade deadline. He’s the Bulls best perimeter defender and would probably be ours too. Not the biggest upgrade in the world, but an upgrade none the less.
First off… PUKE!
Secondly, he’s owed 40 million over the next 4 years… disgusting. Thirdly, he’s not a great defender anymore, last year he was the 5th worst PG in the entire NBA defensively. And Chicago has a lot of good defensive players, and a lot of them on the perimeter. He never even matched Chris Duhon’s numbers defensively. Fourthly… stop with the Hinrich crap, because it makes me puke in my mouth every time.
The guy asked a question in the post.
I just gave my opinion.
Your just regurgitating the same old stuff about Kirk Hinrich. Stats don’t tell the whole story. Hinrich is OBVIOUSLY the bulls best perimeter defender. It’s not even close. He’s coming off one bad year at the age of 27. I’m pretty sure he’s going to be just fine.
Chicago has a lot of good defensive players
I guess you haven’t watched a lot of Chicago games lately. Try not to be so condescending next time.

Better perimeter defenders on the Bulls
Sefalosha, Deng and Hughes easily… I guess #4 could be Hinrich. Of course he’s injured and is owed 40 million but hey, lets waste all our cap space, on an aging guy thats already shown signs of decline, and is essentially Steve Blake with a worse shot, who is a slightly better defender.
PASS!
?
It’s OK to disagree with me, but can you please not be so condescending about it. I get what you are saying about Hinrich. My family is all from Chicago so I’m forced to watch a lot of Bulls games.

A. Hinrich is not aging. He’s 27, which is a year younger than Blake. It sounds like you are probably much younger than 27 so that probably seems pretty old to you. Steve Nash went to the Suns when he was 30. That’s not old for a point guard.
B. It wasn’t just Hinrich, the whole team had a bad year. One bad season on a bad team is not exactly showing the signs of decline.
C. Essentially Steve Blake with a worse shot? He doesn’t have a worse shot. They have the same career shooting percentages, but Hinrich takes more attempts. Guess who’s made the most three pointers in Bull’s history behind Scottie Pippin?
Relax, I just disagree with you, and that’s OK. The Blazers are probably not going to trade for Kirk Hinrich. There’s no need to puke in your own mouth or do anything else rash.

Was it Michael Jordan in that one game in the finals v. the Blazers? That 200 point 1st quarter?

It's Kirk Hinrich.
I think Jordan is 5th.

Hinrich can PASS? Good, let’s get him.
I could tell the other night how many good defenders Chicago has with Hinrich out injured. Impressive.
I’m not crazy about the guy, either. You’re arguments are way over-stated, though. He’s a legit NBA player and able to fill a solid role on a good team. He’s a better defender than Blake. But he’s not enough of an upgrade to justify the cost, IMO.
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.
If you watched him play for
the Wiz or the Cavs the last 4 years you’d think he was a pretty darn good defender. He was a lot of the reason they were such a good defensive team.
That is not neccesary
there is no reason to deride the OP in such a fashion. He’s just excited and enthusiastic. Not every Blazer fan is a cap guru you know.

Toronto will pay Bosh a million billion bazillion dollars. I think THESE Blazers are more or less THE Blazers, don't look around with green eyes and look more to internal growth and chemistry...

I can't help but think of
Dwayne Wade. Not an overrated player, a good leader, fatastic skills, a team player.
I know he’s a guard, and which is something we don’t need.Besides, he’s a max player.
but what the hell we could have a D-Wade.
Our 2R are basketball geniuses-Roy and Rudy
would you play him at the 3?
He’s sort of a 2 guard, right? We’re pretty stacked at that position. What if KP got 2 superstar 2s and we started playing psychedelic Nellie ball with Oden at the 5? That would be so awesome.

"You're really making me feel good about myself, little man," says Oden as he starts dancing after scoring a goal. "You better come harder than that."
I think we should trade RLEC and a pine player like diogu for a bigger contract that expires next year.
I think there’s a good chance we will have the draw in the free agent market to lure one of those elite FA’s ( and maybe, just maybe an outside shot of LBJ ) to portland.
