Here is a mix that I put together of the Blazers Bulls game(11-19-08). I am just trying this out to see how much time it takes to throw a mix together. It is just of Blazers scoring excluding most freethrows. Kind of a fun way to watch the game from the offensive perspective only. It took be 30 min to throw together. Would love to hear if people like this.

very nice
that’s a rec. Is it too late to apologize to the Bulls for that blowout?
If I may offer some constructive criticism:
If there is a way to get rid of the announcer voices, I’d do that. The music and the announcers didn’t go together.
I don’t mind seeing the Blazers make shots, but some of them weren’t highlight worthy. A few of the non three spot up shots could go.
I like that the highlights go in game order. It keeps the mix from being boring. Some people do all dunks and then all 3s and so forth, but this way keeps it fresh.
This was good for just 30 minutes. I’d love to see more game highlights in the future. One huge advantage to a Blazer fan putting these together is we can get EVERY play we want to see again instead of just a few that they show on ESPN.

Maybe a clarification on mix. :)
Magnum, Really appreciate the feedback.. I didn’t really want to put together a mix per say, because we can watch highlights anywhere. I was looking to just provide all offensive shots of the night just so its something different. Kind of like watching the game in fast forward and showing all the stuff we don’t see. Plus, by using offensive shots only, It saves me a ton of time of actually having to really edit a game. This makes them short 3:00 clips which just show the diversity in scoring.
Good note on the music. I didnt really watch it all the way through until after I posted it. :) Thus the quick 30 min. I was thinking of maybe either just removing the sound all together in the next one or removing the announcers..
Reason for choosing Apologize for music. The edit is 3:03, and this was the song on my HDD that was closest in length. :) Plus I love the song.
I have been editing for 10+ years, so I can whip these together in no time.. Just a matter of if I have the time.

If you are going to remove one or the other, remove the music! Not the announcers
If people want music, they can mute your video and flip on something from their iTunes. If you mute Mike and Mike, there’s no way we can hear ’em.

Love it, thanks for the mix
I also like having announcers on there. Another option is to add pretty neutral background music, no lyrics with highs or lows. Of course it’s easier to just not put in music at all, and that would work fine too.

I LOVE this
and I actually think nixing the music would help you get the emotion behind Barrett’s voice…which would be cool.
As far as what shots to put in, I thought you did a great job. Heck, I’d even take more.
Great job though. Rec’d fo shizzle!

Agreed..
I was talking to a buddy at work on Thursday and we went over the highlights of the game from NBA.com, ESPN.com and Yahoo! Sports. The highlights were weak, and didnt show half of the great dunks, etc.. So, I was like.. Man, I record all of these on my MCE, maybe I should throw a clip together.. But, i could see it being a log of work long-term.. :) When it becomes un-fun, I will stop. haha

MCE
Media Center. I don’t know why we call it MCE for Short. Really it should just be MC for Media Center. I record them all on my Media Center, and use DVRMSToolbox to convert the recording to MPEG. TMI? :)

Just started
I just started this season. But, at this point, I am saving to Hard Disks.. Each file is roughly 11gb or so. I have removed a few just because of how much space is needed, but I have recent ones. I have about 5TB in the house, but because I do a lot of video, I run out of space frequently.

nice...
I wish ESPN would take this sort of format. Less talk by “experts” who always guess wrong and more highlights!

HAHA.. Ya, this years Blazer Dancers lineup isnt our best in my opinion..
Is the preference to keep a little T&A in there or no? My wife laughed when she saw that I threw in mixed clips from commercial breaks of the dancers.. :)

Hippity Hoppity
Go in and out with whatever music you think fits, and every now and then throw in a line/scene from a cool movie (it may be impossible to keep from breaking the mood, but you are the talented editor to make it work).

I would love to see one of these for every game. It’s a nice game recap.

Awesome
Really well done. Love it. I wouldn’t change anything – I think the announcers w/ the music is perfect. Also adds an element of being at the game, and mixes things up, by throwing a few shots of the cheerleaders in there.
