Ambassador Report - Sacramento Kings
The Kings have been playing so-so lately, losing to Memphis but coming up with a victory at New Orleans (we know how that turned out for us). Spenser Hawes has been getting some run and Quincy Douby has not, while John Salmons is playing out of his mind. Theus and the Maloofs have traded barbs in public...
Here some articles you may want to check out to educate yourself on what's going on with the Kings...
What has made the Kings successful so far
Quincy Douby: no Brandon Roy-like Heroics
Hollinger: Hawes higher than Rudy as early season surprise
Kevin Martin's agent now King's Assistant GM
Sac Bee: Kings are hurting, Blazers are good
RealGM Kings vs Blazers thread (Kings PoV)
I'll post more updates as the day progresses.

Salmons did look fairly potent for you guys in pre-season
Nice to see he’s continuing to produce for you on a nightly basis.
Also nice to Spence contributing….he did not look good in pre-season to my mind

re: that Hollinger article
Spencer’s play is more surprising then Rudy’s play, but he was expected to be pretty good by most experts so it’s nice for us to see that he made the list at all and is therefore exceeding expectations

Actually I saw alot of negative stuff about Shawes
And most of us at StR were not thrilled with the pick. One guy even threated to jump off the Dubai Tower. (No I’m not kidding.) I was just really really really eff-ing a mad. Not so much anymore.

Great job.
I’ll rec. it in hopes it doesn’t get lost by game time.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Thanks! It probably will get bumped by another couple Gerald Wallace
and Oden Is A Bust threads, but you take the good with the bad…

Salmons is probably MIP
just cause he is getting major minutes. I would be more inclined to vote for Biedrins or Devin Harris right now

I agree with that
Except on the nights like he had against Memphis @ home in the home opener where he shut down Rudy Gay. That was really impressive.

It's interesting that you guys do ambassador reports
I was aware of them, but it’s very interesting to see what you chose to link as what goes on StR. Alot of stuff happens over there frequently, and some of the main stuff (Hiring Levien—which isn’t official yet I must stress—unfortunately), and the Joe rips Theus are kinda off putting.
If you don’t realize why these 2 are so ultimately connected, you should read today’s posts on the Levien subjects. They will help you understand that so much more.
Excellent stuff Blazerholic.

One thing I would like to stress
When you say the Maloof’s you’re saying the whole family, who actually owns the team, and only Joe and Gavin make public statements. In my 17 years of following the team, this is a very unusual dynamic. But everyone who doesn’t understand this I will try to bridge the gap some, is that unlike Paul Allen, who is one sole voice (and while a Seattleite—he’s really aiming to screw up South Lake Union I might add—more frigging buildings on Aurora??Arghhhh….anyway soapbox moment there) is that the whole family—which is George, Adrienne, Mama Maloof as I call her, Coleen Maloof is her Christian name, and Joe and Gavin. Most people state that Joe & Gavin are the owners because they’re in public, and a lot of fans know who they are. But, and I must stress this, they don’t make decisions based on Joe & Gavin’s input. George, who runs the Palms primarily, and Adrienne who is part of the family but lives in LA with her husband, some kind of doctor whom I don’t really care to know enough about to know his specialty, have just as much input as Mama Maloof (who watches all the games from what I’ve read), and Joe and Gavin whom are usually around the team daily (obviously—although Joe hasn’t been courtside cuz of his knee surgery). The point is that when it was decided to not re-hire Adelman, all 5 of those voices have input, and what not.
Oh, and Blazerholic, great FanPost!

Ah, now I understand.
As the mouthpieces, they get most of the attention.
Interesting insight, thanks!

Washingtons last chance at an NCAA ship in bball
If only they could have kept them together for a final four run.
Nate Robinson
Brandon Roy
Spencer Hawes
Not to mention they could of had Martell Webster on top of those 3 if there recruiter could have convinced him not to go to the NBA.
Acquire Serge Ibaka.

Wasn't Hawes a freshman the year after Roy graduated?

Roy Graduated before Hawes came to UW
Roy’s senior year: 2005-06. Hawes frosh season: 06-07.

I've watched a couple Sactoe games this season... You're right about Salmons, he's been going nutso...
……………………… They just beat New Orleans at the Hornets’ court, as I recall, so anybody thinking this is a cakewalk is mistaken…

Lot's of respect for this post
And it’s great to see the Ambassadors being ambassadors (ambassading?).
But to keep things fresh, should we unrec these once the next gameday thread is up? If we have new ambassador reports happening often, it might be good to keep them flowing.

agreed
and Sac isn’t an easy team to ambassadize. They’ve got people like pookeyguru over there that like to stir the pot.
