Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

"Fernandez then was called for holding on the inbounds play, and the Spanish star compounded his obvious foul by drawing a technical foul for arguing. Morrow hit all three free throws to ice it."

I saw that

And almost yelled at my computer for flashing such an obnoxious and obvious bit of GS BS up at me.

That’s like middle school journalism. Or FOX news. LOL.

Poor reporting indeed

Call could have gone either way. Both players were holding and grabbing.

I think its true.

this hurt us a lot but there were a lot of bad calls in the game and this wasnt one of them.

first thought it was a foul on Morrow

But the replay showed it pretty clearly: RudeBoy had a nice grab of Morrow’s jersey which prevented him from breaking free.
Only bad reporting was the “obvious foul” part. It wasn’t obvious until seeing the replay, which was a better angle.

both players grabbed and held

The call could have gone either way. The only problem I have with the AP story is the word obvious.

BobbyLeeHurt is a Warrior homer

Anybody who thinks a foul is obvious in that situation is basketball illiterate.

Anyway, welcome, Bobby!!! We welcome your perspective, even if we don’t agree with it, but we would rather you not call our players “RudeBoy”. It’s kind of, well, rude, to come into our place and do that. I won’t be going to GSOM and calling your guys names, though. I’ve got better things to do.

The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.

You know you have a great team when the refs have it in for ya!

So, I walked into the bank with a loaded .22 and pointed it at the clerk’s face. I told her to load the bag with money and she did. I left with $45,034 cash and was promptly arrested outside.

The funny thing, the cops said that the BANK robbed ME! The clerk was charged with a misdemeanor and I got to shoot 3 free-throws!

Officer Delaney was great!

It’s a good day to be Anthony Morrow.

anybody have a link to a replay of the incident?

been trying to find the replay on the net and no luck. anybody gotta link so we can see for ourselves?

Frankly, I suspect that the replay will show Rudy holding Morrow just before and during the inbounds pass. That is likely what enabled Rudy to get a head start toward the ball. Sorry, but the Blazers WERE TRYING to foul as quickly as possible so maybe we shouldn’t gripe about the fact that the foul was called against them.

We cannot put up with this flagrant lack of accountability anymore.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
