Get to the Polls
Lets go out and vote for our all-stars. Starting two days ago the polls have opened for the all-star roster. If this community can all vote one time each day we may be able to get Roy in there, I doubt Aldridge and Oden but hey try. Its at this web address:
http://www.nba.com/allstar2009/asb/eng/landing.jsp?cid=127
You can vote once a day and everyone needs to vote so rec this so everyone can read it.
Thanks,
Mike

What about Oden?
We gotta get him in there, too.
I know that won’t happen though, thanks to that place called CHINA. I would normally never wish to see somebody get hurt, but as he’s shown a tendency to get silly injuries that aren’t career ending, maybe he call pull up limp one more time for us here.
If Yao goes down, is there any reason why Oden shouldn’t get his place? (I realize he’s only played 3 games… I’m banking that he not only continues what he’s done thus far but elevates to levels we all hoped for. Besides, you can’t tell me that he has been a game-changing mass just standing there in the middle.)

Quick strategy note:
For the other guard/forward, don’t ever pick the obvious favorites. Obviously one will be Roy/Aldridge (if you’re a true homer), but don’t pick duncan as the other forward, or Chris Paul as the other guard. The less votes they get from us, the better chance we have of getting our guys into the game (which is realistically slim to none for the starter’s spot). No need to aid the favorites, thusly handicapping our guys.

Do you really think not voting for Chris Paul or Kobe is going to lead to Brandon making the team?

Brandon is really competing against EVERYBODY ELSE for attention from the coaches, who fill out the team...
……………………….. so one should do the OPPOSITE of what you suggest: vote for Brandon and Kobe!

timbo,
It is definitely possible that not voting for the favorites might help Broy. If every blazer fan votes for Roy as many times as possible, there are an equal number of votes that could support any other guard in the WCF. Kobe and CP are going to get love from the rest of the league anyway, what I am saying is why aid them? This is like saying I’m not going to vote for McCain because he’s going to lose no matter what I do. You don’t support something that is wrong just because it is futile to oppose it (and don’t take this literally, which is something you are wont to do)! Step up, and think for yourself. And your point below seems to directly conflict with your point above. If CP and Kobe are going to get voted in regardless, there’s no reason to worry about either of them not getting voted in, and competing for Roy for coaches’ approval. If our efforts get Roy voted in, though, wouldn’t that be spectacular?
And in fact, the best thing to do may be to vote for just our players and not give the other guard or forward votes to anybody else in competition with Roy and Aldridge. Just leave the last two spots blank, or if that’s not possible, vote for players that have absolutely no chance of making it into the all star game (rafer alston, for example)

how about people just vote for who they want?
My votes went west:
LMA, Gasol, Roy, Oden, CP3
East:
Lebron, Pierce, Joe Johnson, D Wade, Illgauskas.
That’s right, Z is the man, I’d pick him over Howard for sure, either way the east is loaded and would win if these were the line ups.
oh no, Gasol’s vote will just cancel out Lamarcus’!!!

What about Amare?
I did two votes, one for who I liked and one for who I actually thought was the best.

Write-ins
I selected Rudy as a write in but was unable to “add” him. Any hints?
I now go by RMC Brannon. That's right Rudy Man Crush!

I think you can't fill all positions AND write in a player
So for Rudy you would have to leave one guard spot open

Not to be a downer but...
fans can only select the starters. Even if we all vote enough to move Brandon into third that won’t put him on the team – only the coaches can do that. And call me crazy, but I don’t think Bedge can vote enough to move Roy past CP3 or Kobe in the rankings.
Besides…the NBA probably stuffs the ballot box anyway.

Stuffs the ballot box?!!
Whoa now, this is the NBA, not the 2000/2004 presidential election(s)! I don’t think we’ll see any foul play here.
