Does Oden get 20, 10, and 5 tonight? (poll)
So how long will it be until we get our first excellent 20 pt, 10 rbnd, 5 blk game from the big guy? I'm not saying I expect it tonight, but looking at his improvement from the Miami game to the NO game, I have to say I wouldn't be surprised. I am certainly one of those people who said that we need to wait 2-3 months to see the real Oden, but readily admit my disappointment in the Oden situation up to this point ("this point" pretty much being before yesterdays game). I am not a moron, and I know that it will take time for him to get into shape. But what we all saw last night was a man that played through fatigue, and still gave tremendous rebounding and blocked shot efforts until taken out of the game. Obviously this is the second of a back to back, so reality tells me he won't have an explosive game tonight. HOWEVER; something tells me theres a fire brewing inside the big man and that he's gaining confidence very quickly. Who's gonna box him out tonight? There's no Tyson Chandler out there to compete with him. I know Jefferson is 6-10, averages over 10 rebounds a game (8 of them defensive), but I get the feeling that Oden, with energy, can have his way with him when it comes to rebounds and put backs. So, will we get our first monumental performance from Oden tonight? Let me also say, I in NOW WAY am using that stat line as a measuring stick for Oden. If it doesn't happen all year it won't necessarily mean he isn't progressing and improving. I just know that I, along with everyone else, will enjoy the hell out of the game that that happens, and we all know it will eventually happen!

Chicago is a possibility since they play without a true center at the moment
Dampier had 18 and 16 against them.

He COULD
But I dunno if it’ll come tonight. It COULD, but it is only his 3rd full game ever…
Al Jefferson is only 6’8" or so, so Oden is much, much, much bigger than him. Because Jefferson and Love are so short and tiny, I was looking forward to Oden and LMA playing them since we dwarf ’em.
The games against the Dubs and da’ Bulls are other great games for Oden to have a breakout in, since they literally have no one to match up with him (but who does, besides the Lakers and Magic?)
We saw what Oden can do as a raw out of shape dude, and the times will get better, but I won’t expect the exponential jump until I know he can do 30 minutes for a game without it becoming a story.

Best line of the day
“I won’t expect the exponential jump until I know he can do 30 minutes for a game without it becoming a story.”… You’re so right. I too look forward to him playing 30 without it being a story, unless it’s like, “I can’t believe oden ONLY played 30 minutes tonight”

Ahhhhhh.....
Just feels so doggone good just talking about this. Having the big man back is so very cool. Don’t know when that stat line is coming, but I do know that with 30+ minutes of PT the thunder god that is Oden will be coming real close. Give him 35+ minutes and this seems possible almost EVERY night. Mr. Mort “thats a nice” summary. Minutes = nirvanna.
That block took my breath away, almost couldn’t believe my eyes.
Yep, life feels a little bit better today.

The Dubs have Biedrins, and Turiaf is also getting 2 blocks this season
Maybe not the easiest matchup for Greg.

Beans is a double double machine
But he is WEAK defensively, and Turiaf gets decent hustle blocks but is a horrible rebounder for a hustle dude. Oden is a lot bigger than them both, and even Pryzz had his way with Biedrins last year.
Biedrins can block shots with his length, but Oden will get great position on him (or whoever else they got) and make hay (in theory). Biedrins is just sorta not strong and unimposing defensively… though he has really good hands and is a good rebounder. For his limited skillset he does really well on offense, but he’s got a ways to go defensively.

golden state is a joke inside
they have all skinny players (minus turiaf who has never been a force), and biedrins is just a defensive rebounding machine, thats about it. just look at how oden practically took Chandler out of the game (another rebounder, non offensive player, however chandler is probably a little better at defense).

Oden getting 10 reb. will be pretty common...
…………………….. But 20 points? A rarity.
And combining that with the rarity of 5 blocks = more than 13 games.

just saying
He got 4 blocks last night, still winded and out of shape. A couple more games, a bit more wind, it doesn’t seem that unrealistic does it?

Not at all.
Just wait, 4 blks in the future and we might be disapointed because he had an off night, when he really gets going. If anything teams will be forced to go outside with him in there. NO looked a little intimidated last night when they tried to go inside and GO was in there.

uh no
Oden played 24 very nice minutes, but he’s still a ways away. A think it’ll take more than 13 games. Oden is not all the way back yet- give him time.

Stop saying what numbers he is gonna get.
I just hope he has some great highlights with atleast descent stats and we also win the game. I would be satisfied with anything less than 25 10 5.
15/12/3 would still be beast for me

Just remember . . .
GO is a MAN ! You just got a taste of what
his physical gifts will produce on a regular basis.*
- - If he remains relatively healthy. (Ankle sprains
are common in all hoops)
GO is so strong and has such great core balance
that he will overpower 85 % of all centers. The other
15 % he will out quick ( save D. Howard, possibly
two others) or out jump. With time, the confidence and
aggression will give us the dominant franchise center
needed to win multiple rings.
Next step is to get Martell back and aclimated. When
he hits his stride, he’ll become 3M. Our most difficult
portion of the schedule will be past and the roll towards
the playoffs will begin. Look out NBA !
COINCAST SUCKS !!!!! THANK YOU KGW !!!!!
It's GO time !
