Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

And if you really think Detroit is landing a marquee guy in 2010 when big markets such as New York and L.A. and warm-weather cities such as Miami, Phoenix and Orlando will all be throwing money around -- not to mention deep-pocketed Portland, which will have assembled a contender at that point and remains the most logical destination for LeBron if he only cares about winning titles and nothing else (and also, Nike is right there)

LeBron

That would be crazy. I mean… Paul Allen has the money… The Nike makes sense…

What lineup would be looking at ?

Sergio/Bayless
Roy/Rudy
Lebron/Batum
Aldridge/Frye
Oden

What would be of our current SF’s. Outlaw, Webster & Batum? Keep Batum for backup SF, trade Webster/Outlaw to free up cap ? RLEC will help of course.

My mouth is watering thinking about it. Let me just say this… KP & Allen will have the opportunity, the means & ways to sign this guy. Will they? We can only pray.

How does Nike have anything to do with it?

I’m pretty sure Nike meets Lebron wherever Lebron wants. He probably only has a couple meetings a year with them anyway.

I would thow up in my own mouth if Lebron came to Portland. Stupid hand symbols. Luckily it won’t ever happen.

I dont understand the Nike reason either

Obviously it wasn’t a deal breaker for him not to play in portland, i dont know why he would need to play in portland to improve his relationship with nike….He is that important that people would fly out to meet him on his schedule. If he was going to film commercials or what not…he could film them anywhere. If he needed to consult with someone, they could always fly out to meet him.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense.

I actually wouldn’t be that upset if we got Lebron. I guess I could grow to accept it once we started winning every game.

I was wondering about this

Is there any way we would have enough cap room if we kept the money from RLEC until 2010? Has anybody crunched the numbers?

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
