"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life,(of the Blazers), (of KP's madness), of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity." - Albert Einstein

Here's a tip for the Blazers

- Slide your feet to play defense
- Go inside and not settle for jumpers
- Learn to rotate off your man
- Try not to touch Wade, you’ll get whistled

by Cablinasian on Nov 12, 2008 6:38 PM PST up reply actions

The problem with a Webster Batum platooon

Is that they both are strong playing in a slashing, high-energy defense way [this assuming the post-deepthreat theory of Webster]. Outlaw still delivers something that neither of those players delivers. In the second unit, Outlaw is still one of only players who can purely create a shot.

by rmcdougall on Nov 12, 2008 6:40 PM PST up reply actions

Roy and Rudy

can both create their own shot with no problem…LMA doesnt have too hard of a time as well.

Had this been the trout of last year…I’d be all for making Batum and Webster our long term answers…but Travis has been making strides to playing within the offense. As long as he continues to improve in that area, I have no qualms with him on the team long term.

Every child must be encouraged to get as much education as he has the ability to take. We want this not only for his sake-but for the nation's sake. Nothing matters more to the future of our country: not military preparations-for armed might is worthless if we lack the brain power to build a world of peace; not our productive economy-for we cannot sustain growth without trained manpower; not our democratic system of government-for freedom is fragile if citizens are ignorant.

The reason he DOES play is because of box scores like that

But the reasons we’re given for why he doesn’t are the intangibles. Specifically, the defense and the lack of a deep threat.

J Barry is a revisionist, like many color commentators. We got good looks in those 3 possessions, they just didn’t fall. I thought we did a nice job slowing the pace, running down the clock, and getting good looks.
We did not give the Heat an opportunity to get out and run with a bunch of shots in a hurry.

Greg

good first step. He’s still clearly out of shape and pressing too hard. I’d say rather than playing him 9 minutes straight, give him 2 stints per half of about 4 mins each. Bring him in halfway through the first, then again at about the 8 minute mark of the 2nd. Repeat in the 2nd half. He looked pretty decent in his first 4-5 minutes, but then faded for the next 4 he was in there in the first half.

They’re still making some basic mistakes and sometimes not moving the ball like i’d like, but really… they’re getting better every single game. They’re finally at teh point I wanted them to be at at the beginning of the season. That’s very hopeful.

There was one time

Where Outlaw got the ball when he was open for a corner 3, but he passed up the shot and dribbled a step closer for a contested long 2.

Outlaw has been doing a better job of being a spot-up shooter this year, but it is still annoying when he reverts to the way he used to be and dribbles to take a more difficult shot instead of just shooting immediately.

Why Sergio played to much in the forth quarter with Roy if he wasn’t touching the bal and he is not a shooter?

by Kartemax on Nov 12, 2008 8:32 PM PST reply actions

Don't know Kartemax

I’m not sure, but its probably as a reward for his good play earlier in the game. His defense wasnt a liability tonight and he helped us generate a decent lead when our offense was stagnant at the end of the third. Sergio did take over for a few plays in the 4th and I believe the ball movement lead to Rudy’s turnaround jumper at the top of the circle.
