Brian McCormick actually has a reasoned trade proposal
I really respect how this guy thinks about the game of basketball, and his various blogs are all really good reads. He doesn't talk about the NBA too much, which he mentions in this article, but it's really great stuff about the game in general.
I don't know if I'd do this trade, but that's mostly just because I'm very conservative about trades in general and would much rather watch the guys we have develop. That being said, I like his justifications and it's a pretty creative angle that I haven't seen before.
He also mentions a couple possibilities to free Sergio, if that's your bag.

if we did that
i can’t picturing our starters playing that many minutes, but if we did that our rotations would be down to 7 or 8 men i would guess.

Talk about an all-star lineup
4 out of our 5 starters would be all-star material. Yowzers.
I've got a plan......we lob up a bad shot that Dwight can block, but we do it in such a way that it hits either Rashard or Hedo in the head knocking them out for the game.

I love Tony Parker,
and I love this trade, but the only way it works in the long run is if Roy or Rudy moves to the 3. Parker, Roy and Rudy are too good to not overlap, and our starting and ending lineup may necessarily feature those three. I am all over this deal, but I doubt it happens unless we send one of our big 3. Parker is too valuable to the Spurs, considering both his talent and his age, and might actually be their most valuable player at this point because Duncan and Ginobili are getting old. So if they rebuild, they might want to rebuild around Parker. But yes, he would be the ideal veteran to lead this team considering his age, talent and championship experience.
San Antonion would be better off trading Duncan
You’re right. They could get someone young and worth MUCH
I'm a really really ridiculously good looking orange mocha frappaccino drinking manhammer sandwich
And we'd get Eva Longoria Parker in the audience every night
Yowzaa!

ok
now i’m willing to part with one of the big 3. Tony + Eva together are worth a big 3.

No way the Spurs make this trade...
Right? Tony Parker is just too good, but if we could get this done, I would be all for it.
Jaws were hitting the floor as Greg repeatedly attempted to tear the rim off the backboard...
I love this trade
How could we turn that down? I doubt SA does it because I think they could get more for Parker than that package, but maybe not.
Witty Unpredictable Talent and Natural Game
What the Spurs need is a package.
Their lack of depth is showing itself off right now, big time. However they could do better than this for TP and Eva. I would be all for this but I think the Spurs would ask for more than that.
Absolutely
They need as many studs as possible, but I think they could get a better “Package” elsewhere.
I would, personally, do this trade in a heartbeat.

I don't think Roy and Tony Parker would play that well together
Roy and Parker seem like similar players: they both are dominate ball-handlers who mostly contribute by penetrating with the ball and then either scoring or kicking the ball out to an open shooter. Since only one of them can have the ball at a time, they will each be less effective when they are playing together.
Roy played with Robinson at Udub
And CP3 during the all-star game, so I think Brandon could play “off” of Parker just fine
Brandon would be great with a PG
It’s nice and all that Roy’s able to cover for our pg problems, but I think he’d benefit from lessening the load. Let him curl off screens, post up, etc. and let Parker put him in positions to succeed rather than having to create those positions himself.

Travis Outlaw
would drive coach Pop absolutely crazy
(which is a good reason to do this trade…as if )
Ofcourse we love this trade
we are robbing the Spurs! If you don’t think so, then post then on their blog and see their reaction. They might be willing to trade parker, but if they did they would want way more than a couple of roleplayers who might blow up. Parker is the real deal, he is not getting traded unless it is for a real deal player.
