This Excites Me
So Jason Quick just wrote this lovely piece about Oden looking very good in practice today. While reading it I was thinking to myself that this is one of the most positive things I have read about Greg in the past couple months. Nate is thinking of having Oden comming off the bench for, it sounds like, an extended pierod of time, which I don't think is a bad thing. Pryzbilla has earned his spot in the line up and Oden should to. Also as Nate said "I also think that allows LaMarcus (Aldridge) and Brandon to be LaMarcus and Brandon" Which I think is a very accurate statement.

Good thing Nate didn't say this allows
LaMarcus to be Brandon and Brandon to be LaMarcus. That would be embarrassing.
How many times can I get excited to see a guy play in what seems like his first game? Well, I haven’t hit that limit yet. I’m excited.
I am so excited...
I am still excited about seeing him play in a real game, a year and a half after he was drafted… C’mon Greg, lets put up 12 and 10 on that midget Haslem.
Giving [Batum] the freedom to go for steals is going to be like giving a redneck six boxes of ammo and a quarter mile of empty Bud cans. - Dave
Greg has to earn
his minutes. Channing should be first off the bench.
Guard Brandon Roy is a bad, bad man.
Um....
Channing hasn’t really earned his minutes… it’s not like he has played great defense.

Bum rap. Channing isn't good laterally with qucker players, but his teammates
gave him lots of props for bodying up Howard and keeping him from starting low in the paint, and he’s not bad with help defense.
Frye used to be a Center in college, before he went to Sweden for position-change surgery and became a Small Forward...
"I’m glad Sergio played well in pre-season, but he should be getting killed for whining. He ain’t that important to the country of Spain, let alone the Trail Blazers." --Mortimer Pritchard
David Thorpe mirrored these impressions in his rookie scorecard (see fanshots)
And that’s coming from a guy who was very critical of Oden, much more than Quick’s “a bit underwhelmed”.
With Greg coming off the bench, that means
that our second unit is now Sergio/Rudy/Trout/Frye/Oden
I like that unit. Not only are the players individually better than the reserves of other teams, they also complement each other well and cover up each other’s weaknesses.
C'mon baby... 12 and 10 would be AMAZING
But a 10 and 7 wouldn’t be too bad for his first full game..
I am loving the team right now, but I think Frye will get 10-12 minutes at most tomorrow. With Oden coming back, Channing will lose some minutes.
Lets go big:
Starting Lineup:
Pyrz
Oden
LMA
Frye
Batum
According to DaniBCN, Batum’s and his european skills should be able to hold down the PG spot .
Then ridiculously small:
Roy
Rudy
Sergio
Bayless
Blake
Roy can post up and work on new facets of his iso game that clearly has a 100% approval rating.

Rule #1 of nitpicking is to get it right.
Not if it's halfcourt

you just won an award for best comment ever
it has not monetary value and will be awarded again in 5 seconds probably, but hey, that was one hell of a comment.

At this point
Anything GO gives is bonus. Bring him off the bench, tell him to be super aggressive on both ends of the court. If he only plays 15 or 20 effective minutes, that’s huge, and Joel and Channing can cover the rest easily.

"All our holes," says shooting guard Brandon Roy, a surprise All-Star last year in his second season, "are holes that Greg is going to plug."
For those who expect big Things out of him, I say
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Greeeeeeeeeg Oden!

I like the idea of bringing Oden off the bench
he just needs to be out of the spotlight for a while and learn to play again.
Finally I get to see the White Team I thought should have been from the start!
Sergio/Rudy/Trout/Frye/Oden
I am pumped! Time to put the Heat on Ice!

+1
If that was the lineup, the Blazers would officially have the strongest bench in the NBA.
