NO JOEL! BUT ODEN ON ALL STAR BALLOT???????
They just annonced the All Star Ballot for 2009 and I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw that Greg Oden was on the All Star Ballot! And Joel Pryzbilla was not on the ballot! How is Greg Oden on the all star Ballot and Joel Pryzbilla is not?? I just want some feedback on this because I don't understand how Joel keeps proving himself and out rebounding alot of people, and Greg Oden has played a few games in two years!! So what do you have to do to get on the All Star Ballot?? Besides be a number one draft pick? Joel's field goal percentage is great! His rebounds are at 8.4 per game only because of foul trouble! His minutes played are 26 per game.He is currently 25th in the NBA in rebounds. He averages 2.7 offensive rebounds per game. I think thats definately deserving of being on the All Star Ballot over Greg! If you look at the guys who are on the All Star Ballot line up for centers, Joel has better numbers than some of them. So what do you think? I vote for Joel Pryzbilla!

I hope this is written in a comical nature
Oden is GREG ODEN.
Joel is Joel Przybilla. Outside of his family and a few of us, he ain’t getting any votes.
The NBA expects Oden to be a HUGE star. Of course you put him on the ballot.
I love Joel as much or more than the next guy, but Joel shouldn’t ever be considered in allstar talks with a straight face. He’s a role player— which is what we need him to be.

^What he said.
But also, this probably should have been posted in the comments of the thread right below this one.

What are you talking about
This is a snub of epic proportions!
If anything deserves it’s own thread, it’s the Joel-Przybilla-being-left-off-the-ballot scandal (I called it Joel-Przybilla-being-left-off-the-Allstar-ballot-GATE). I mean, how could this be?!?
He’s EASILY a top 30 center. EASY.
I doubt anyone even shows up at the allstar game in protest. No Joel, No Fans.

JOEL WAS SNUBBED !1ELEVEN!!!
Joelgate. This is worse than Baron Davis and Deron Williams being not voted into the All-Star Game 2007/08.
Time for every basketball fan with eyes and brains to write in Joel.
At least he will win DPOY. Move over KG.

This is a travisty and a conspiracy
Everyone knows that the massive population of Minnesota would propell Joel into the starting center spot if only he were on the ballot. It is a shame…a dog gone shame

There was one reason why the Orlando game wasn't sold out
and that was because no Greg vs. Dwight. The league knows that this kid makes money just walking onto the court, sadly you cannot say the same for the Vanilla Gorilla no matter how much we love him.

Hype
The All-Star Voting is centered on popularity and hype.
Oden has to be on there just for that. He’s been hyped into oblivion.

The all star ballot is voted on before the season
Each team can have a maximum of one nominee at the Center position. Prior to the season, one Greg Oden was projected to be the Blazer starter, hence he is on the ballot.
This is not worthy of a fanpost, much less 8 question marks.

All-Star
means nothing. Period. Zilch. Nada.
If you want to talk about accomplishments, talk about the All-NBA teams. Not the All-Stars. Even Brandon Roy making All-Star last year means nothing to me.

Oden needs to start hanging out with Yao
maybe the chinese will spare a couple of their 1000 votes each for him

Rudy should be in 3 Shootout
where do you vote? or do they select themselves

The league "invites" players to participate in the skills, dunk or 3 point shootout
“invites” is in quotes because it is more of an edict than an invitation.

If the NBA wants some real excitement during the All-Star break...
they should schedule a alley-oop contest and invite The Spanish Connection to bring the real fireworks!

My complaint
Is that the NBA releases the all star ballots like a week into the season. It’s almost as ridiculous as the heisman lists.
Things happen for a reason they say, but I say there's a reason things happen.

Vote Gerald Wallace!
Then we can have four all stars in the game.

Totally agree
It’s completely unfair.
Joel, while likely never an All-Star, deserves the chance much more than someone, no matter how high their potential, who has only played two quarters.
I love the IDEA of GO, and everything I’ve seen of him OFF THE COURT, but JOEL puts it together ON THE COURT every night.
This might boil down to anticipation of GO coming back strong, or perhaps the ballots were printed a month ago, or perhaps it’s just the fact the Joel has -1 star power compared to unfortunately injured players like GO and total flops like Starbury.
Such is life.

Nice.
I agree! I love how the Blazers fans make fun of Joel but he sure makes them happy winning them games with all of those rebounds etc.. Shame on them.
