Well, the time has come
For the Blazer Fans here to make a decision. After being knocked around by a schedule that has never happened in NBA history, we are 4-3. Most of the teams we have faced were better than we were last year. And we are still over .500. Whoda thunk it!
My question is this; why do we Still question our team? They obviously have the heart to win. The Will to win. The Skills to win. Why do we doubt the heart of the Stout hearted Gentlemen who choose to represent us! The answer is simple, sorrowfully so. Our lack of faith.
No matter what the reason, we have not the courage to believe in OUR team. Who's fault is that! Ours of course! They are out there giving their best. The very least WE can to is to Support their Effort!

It is not just lack of faith
it is also that the Blazers don’t look like the winning team during large stretches of games.. I realize that coming up with a win in these situations is huge.. but it doesn’t last. Winning teams play winning basketball… the blazers are making great strides but they are also playing beyond their ability (and good facing teams that are underperforming)
I love kool aid as much as anyone.. but still

The league needs a new division.
It would involve policing the use of giant foam hands used to indicate that your team is #1. These cheer devices will be regulated so that only teams currently occupying the first position as determined by record will be allowed to exhibit their usage by their fans.
Ok, I’m being an arse. I don’t even think giant foam #1 hands have been manufactured since 1987.
But the thing is, being a fan and fretting that we just aren’t good enough, or as good as we think we are, or as good as we are supposed to be just isn’t real appealing to a lot of folks. Now, I understand that some (many? most?) enjoy the analysis of sport as much as the sport itself…hey, the existence of BEdge probably proves that…but sometimes it’s nice to be #1, even if that is only in your own perception. So that’s the kool-aid. But that’s what cheering on your team is all about!
Sorry, not picking on you or your post, idoltime. It just sort of captured a theme that often rubs me the wrong way.
And those giant foam #18 hands are just too big and unwieldy anyhow.

Same here.
It is like we have all these basketball experts who tell us that Nate sucks or Portland will never win a championship with Blake as PG or that the Blazers are can’t play winning basketball for long stretches.
First off, what exactly is winning basketball? Last time I bothered to check, it was being the team that had the higher point total at the final buzzer. Unless that definition has changed, Portland has played winning basketball 4 times in 7 games.
Who in the league would have predicted the youngest team in the league (if you subtract Raef), playing without two starters, would have a winning record after facing 6 playoff teams 7 games into the season?

Tis not a lack of faith my son...
It is about an uncertainty. It comes with age, and this year is the one to cement that certainty into our souls. We’ve seen the leadership, we’ve noticed the mature nature of the team. But until we take that bit from the apple…..it’s just good looking fruit man. we ain’t tasted nothing yet…but we’re lickin our chops ;)
After a few good blow outs, you’ll see. then it won’t be so much about compassion for our center, it’ll be about demanding wins.
The Faith don't panic, the faith freaks out burns out farms and torchs small villages in the name of The Faith.

Hmm
I support their effort, and still expect 55 wins this year. Recognizing that we’re on a tough road trip and may lose some games, and that we can’t really claim to deserve more than 2 of our wins so far, doesn’t mean someone doesn’t have faith. It’s just reality.
I don’t have faith that we will win a single more game this trip. I think we will, we might even get two. But I can’t say that with any confidence, there is certainly the potential to lose every remaining game, and to do so even if we play fairly well. Road losses happen in the NBA — home teams get hot. And only Minnesota is a poor team.
But I have lots of faith in this team that they will win enough to stay in the hunt until they get healthy, and that then lots of very, very good things are going to happen.
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.

I can't say what I think and follow the Site Conversation Rules
Basically a lot of fans have their heads stuffed so far up their @^&# &$#, that the lack of oxygen to their brain prevents them from having rational thoughts.

I've always believed in them, that's why it's so frustrating when
they play below their potential.
But hopefully we’ll see less and less of that.
