Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Ambassador to Washington: tssbro

Does that title sound official enough?

As the BE ambassador to the Wizards' SBN site Bullets Forever, I have been laying low and reading as much as I can to get to know their team and contributors before making too many comments and it has been quite interesting.  The Blazers do not meet up with the Wizards until December 3, but I thought some of you might be interested in how Juan Dixon and Antonio Daniels are doing and what BF readers expect to get out him this season.

I also felt compelled to post because a topic was brought up that we have been discussing for a couple of years now: substitution patterns.  Pradamaster, one of their "Dave & Ben", even links to Dave's post about this topic last fall.  Nate could have an easier time this year with more possible successful options from the bench than in years past.

The Wizards are in a bit of a different situation than the Blazers.  They are hoping to win enough games early to still be able to make a run at the playoffs when they get Arenas back.  They have a mix of veteran stars, Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison, and young hopefuls, Andray Blatche and Nick Young and JaVale McGee, and some role player types that they hope will gel enough to keep them close.  But their hopes for a sucessful season are tied directly to Arenas' return and I imagine if they have a slow start, their readers will start calling for a lot more playing time for the youth on the team and thus a better shot at a good draft pick next year.  A couple have already expressed this opinion.

I will keep you guys posted if anything Blazer related pops up.

UPDATE:  I just posted first fanpost as "ambassador" over at Bullets Forever.  Not that exciting; but if you want to say "Hi" to Wizards fans on behalf of the BE, here is the link.

Not a lot

They get about 15-30 comments on hot, non-game day topics and not a whole lot of fan posts, but they do get quite a bit of action on game day. At least for the one they have had. They broke 200 in their open thread which is better than some sites, but that was opening night.

They have a few dedicated readers who have responded to most of my comments over there. I haven’t posted a fanpost yet.

Thanks

I wasn’t sure if people were ready to hear anything about the Wizards. It is fun to have something new to check out and get to know. The BE is hard to keep up with and I find myself reading just Dave and Ben’s posts and skimming other stuff. I used to read just about everything written here but it is just too much.

I can’t speak for other BFers, but I don’t see the two clauses here as being mutually exclusive. Our young guys give us a good shot to win, therefore they should play. At least that’s my view.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

That is always where the debate arises

Magloire vs Aldridge was a big one for us LaMarcus’ rookie season. Nate insisted on playing Magloire, also known as Magloirrible (did I spell that right Mort?), in situations where many of us thought Aldridge should be getting time to develop. In retrospect, at least in my opinion, it probably motivated LaMarcus to get better and saved him from some beat downs from older veterans in games we weren’t going to win anyway. I’m sure the point is still debatable.

Also

Magloire did provide something LMA could not at that time for sure, and it remains to be seen if he will in the future. If nothing else, no one was going to push him around without getting some of it back.

What does the ‘tss’ stand for?

by inroywetrust on Nov 2, 2008 5:45 AM PDT reply actions

Family related

I was known as my brother’s brother at the company we both work at around the time I joined so I embraced it in my title. “Oh, you are T__ S_____’S BROther.”

Yes to first two No to #3

Yes, a guy. Yes, not a grandmother.
But of course I am a hot sexy mo fo.

I was just trying to avoid the , “Hello, I am the ambassador” introduction over at the BF.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
