Return of the Podcast
Since Casey is fully recovered from surgery he, Gavin Dawson of 95.5 The Game fame, and I got together this afternoon for some podcasting fun. Topics include the early pre-season results, a ton of Oden stuff, a rundown of the guards, a bigger rundown of small forwards around the league, debate over playoff prospects, and a whole lot more. You can stream it at Casey's Blog or download the .mp3 here.

Hey, alright!
Love the podcast.
Question: I noticed that the podcast is official through trailblazers.com now. Is there an RSS feed or something for the podcast so we can subscribe through iTunes?

Thanks for the podcast
But most of the suggestions for “upgrades” thrown around: Yuck. Good that you acted as the voice of reason.
We should rather stand pat than make such a move. Shawn Marion? Stephon Jackson? Vince? Is Gavin trying to collect the Ego All-Stars? I agree with Casey that I would take Josh Howard any day over those guys. He just talks too much and is not a head case. Not that I think Dallas has any interest in moving him, since he isn’t overpriced for his performance, is the second best scorer and the best defender on the team. Tinsley who is less welcome in Indiana than Marbury in NY? Diaw, who has one of the ten worst contracts in the NBA, peaked two years ago, showed nothing in the last playoffs and almost made Amare blind as recent as last week? Really?
Gerald Wallace makes sense, albeit he would instantly rate as one the top two most injury prone players on the Blazers. Trade for Tayshaun Prince once Detroit gets serious about getting younger. Try to lure Memphis into giving up Conley. Wait until next year when Turkoglu becomes a UFA and Danny Granger a RFA. Etc.

Yeah, I noticed that one.
Jermaine needs to order a truckload of Neosporin for that burn.

completely agree with Gavin,
no not about Vince or Stephen Jackson or Marion, but on Travis. Travis isn’t going to fit with second unit this year unless he learns to do something other than score.

agree as well
I bet he could catch on quick if he is playing with the first unit until Martell gets back from his surgery. Travis wont be a scorer with Brandon, LA and Greg on the floor. He’ll have to learn to pass.

Oden's assists
Sabonis, one of the best passing centers in Blazers history, averaged 3.0 assists per game in his top year. Saying Greg will average 5 or 6 is preposterous. But he certainly could be in the 2 to 2.5 range, maybe even 3 with the shooters around him (better than Sabonis’s supporting cast during most of his years).

Bill Walton
averaged 3.4 over his career…Shaq was up to 4 earlier this decade. I think that’s the ceiling you can expect from Greg and not for a long time.

That was swell
I liked the flow and how examples were asked for when Gavin said we need a veteran.

I think we're developing roles
Gavin is the edge-treader, I am the voice of reason, and Casey is the instigator…

Yeah
I kind of noticed that. You’re the Dave, Gavin is BLAZERS#52, and Casey is Mortimer of the podcast. You guys should answer fan e-mails or take calls.
