Amare Stoudemire likely to wear goggles for the rest of his career: Meet the next Kurt Rambis or rather Horace Grant.

Apparently Boris Diaw tried to deflect a pass and poked him in the right eye, partially tearing his iris and pupil (ouch, and the iris can't heal itself completely). Amare said afterwards he felt strong pain and thought for a few minutes he could turn blind on the eye, which initial tests were able to exclude (lens and retina were not damaged). Yet he will miss at least the next two weeks of pre-season to avoid raising his blood pressure. Afterwards he might need to wear protective gear to avoid future injuries.
