ESPN Research for Tonight's Game
On the Daily Dime today, "ESPN Research" writes the following:
The Spurs are 0-1 for the first time since the 1996-97 season and look for their first win of the season when they visit Portland on Friday night. San Antonio has won 12 in a row against the Trail Blazers, the longest active win streak over an opponent in the NBA. Portland last beat San Antonio on Jan. 24, 2005. The only current Blazers on Portland's roster that day were Joel Przybilla and Travis Outlaw.
Holy Smokes!!!
We need to break this streak tonight!!
We need to smoke these spurs!!
RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!

we need to stab these spurs into the side of an equestrian

Equestrian?
Like, stab them in the side of someone riding a horse? A jockey, perhaps?

I prefer the way they did it in the movie Gladiator, when Maximus
was in the forrest and killed 3 people after nearly being stabbed in the head.

We need to offer these spurs Bengay and Orothopedic shoes
so that they can run up and down the court.

I think a blowout tonight is necessary to win the game tomorrow
since then we can rest our players…. I hope are “Stars” don’t need to play much in the 4th quarter

I was at that game when the Blazers last beat the Spurs
Steve Javie kicked out Nick Van Exel.
Joel Przybilla hit a turnaround jumper and two long baseline J’s… shots I’d never seen him make before and haven’t seen him make since.
It was the most pumped the Rose Garden got that season. Those were crappy times. These times are better. Hopefully fans rise up with this team tonight and blow up at the Spurs.

They have fewer weapons these days
We can’t let Tony Parker and Tim Duncan both go for 30 and hope to win. If their first game is any indication of what it’s going to take them to win (come close anyway) I think we have a good shot.
It’s certainly easier to plan for (essentially) two guys instead of a whole team, like we had to against the L*kers.
