We can no longer rely on Brandon Roy
Seriously, the guys is always getting injured...A look at the hard facts reveals he is injury prone! He has missed 33 games in just his first two season and recently even had to have SURGERY in the off-season! The guy is clearly made of glass, I cringe every time he moves when he is out on the court. Knee, ankle, tailbone...you name it and he's injured it!
We, as fans need to realize that he may never be anything besides a decent role player and I implore the front office to take whatever steps necessary to bring in some other talent so that we can move on and start to make deep playoff runs, with more reliable true star talents.
If he happens to play OK and contribute a little bit on this team that is great, but it has become obvious with his constant injuries that we need to start focusing on a future in Portland that may not have Roy involved.

I can do that but...
the point of my post just made a huge whooshing noise as it apparently went over your head
I was merely using the reasoning Canzano and others were with Greg Oden and applying it to Roy
Sarcasm doesn’t carry over in text so sometimes though
Rooo-D!
you're hilarious...
i thought when i was reading it that it smelled like something from canzano…. often i can’t stand the guy =)

Yeah all the day after crap about Oden on the 95.5 was ridiculous…was not a single voice of reason on there until Kenny Vance and Wheels were on…everybody else turned into Chicken Little. What’s worse I’m pretty sure (Canzano in particular) that they were doing it solely to sensationalize and get ratings
Rooo-D!
i'm always wondering who actually supports canzano and his
ridiculous statements… how does he make a living reporting like he does???

I am with you there...
But apparently Wendell Maxey thinks he “does a bang up job on the Bald Face Truth,” as I read on his blog here

His was not the only head it whoosed over.
My first take was that either this was a post by
a) some idiot or troll
or
b) a test by Dave to see how good we were at ignoring it.
(not sure if I would have passed)
It wasn’t until reading your other comments below that one could conclude what you were really doing. As has been pointed out numerous times, including by you, sarcasm is difficult to portray.
hakkaa päälle !
yep
sarcasm is difficult… it relies on large exaggerations, and i didn’t sense this was done in the original post

I've always found
That using the ‘sarcasm’ tag works well. However, SB Nation is retarded and ignores anything that resembles HTML markup. However, square brackets work (although they wouldn’t survive a sarcasm debugger. To wit:
[sarcasm]
Kobe Bryant is a wonderful human being and a faithful husband.
[/sarcasm]

That is why one must use the sarcasm font
it erases any doubt, yet leaves the intention intact.
example:
We should trade Oden for Tyrus Thomas to make up for the fact that we stole Lma from Chicago./end{sarcasm}
I mean really
messed up pinky?…he plays through it
hyper-extends his knee?…ready to go on opening night
How does this guy pass through metal detectors?
At least Jorday broke his foot once and sliced his finger tendon with a cigar chopper
Tim Duncan is another freak
where can the Blazers go to get these bionic players?
Karl Malone…sheesh
Yes!!!!
You got it!! I think we should turn the page on another bad page in history… by returning to a bad stage in history!! How about this trade?
Not that Tinsley was a blazer.. but it seemed to fit..
Panic!!!
I don't like this post.
The Faith don't panic, the faith freaks out burns out farms and torchs small villages in the name of The Faith.
Maybe faith doesn't like sarcasm.
You really jumped to that conclusion truls. Geez, maybe faith doesn’t like jumping to conclusions either.
Oh no. Maybe faith doesn’t like people speculating about what he likes. Man, this is hard.

or maybe I said just enough to get my point across, without going overboard (a usual for me) and getting myself banned.
I felt the sarcasm, I just don’t think it was laid on thick enough to be taken as sarcasm ;)

John Canzano
is a putrid idiot.
I swear he was trying to make life as miserable as possible for Blazer fans these past few days. I know it’s his job to ask the tough questions, stir up emotions and whatnot, but as a Blazer representative, I’d tell him to piss off.
bald-faced-falsehoods
… he tries to “spin” truth and go beyond the nature of reporting to ultimately tick people off…
He needs to take a community college journalism class, and perhaps cover a smaller franchise before doing something with a professional sports team

I believe this is a case of situational irony, not sarcasm.

dude ...
You gotta use that sarcasm font hard on something like this.
I was kinda ticked off when I read it, and then decided to IGNORE … now I get it.
(huge sigh of relief)
OK… um … and … We should change our team colors to orange and light blue.

Nicely done.
Pretty funny that a few people thought it was a serious commentary on Roy. Not that things don’t often go right over my head, too… but really, guys?
Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?
Frye: He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors.
Amazing screen name

i missread the direction this title was heading
the way i took it was, how long can we rely on broy staying in ptown. is it possible that broy does not re-sign with portland, and instead opts to go to an immediate contender? think of other team leads that have left for “contenders”
Yeah... well that's just like, your opinion, man...
have you watched brandon roy play?
not all-star caliber?
this post is a joke

The point of this post is that overreacting makes you sound like an idiot.
He is baiting for responses.
And pointing out the idiocy of all the doomsayers. Obv, BRoy is an awesome baller we should keep til he is John Stockton old and gray.
There once was a Sea’ Cap’n Nate
Whom with Blazers did negotiate.

I agree with Odenied
I did not hear Canzano use the term “injury-prone” on the radio when he was talking about this. He wasn’t cracking on Oden at all, he was saying it for the benefit of Oden and he was speaking to the fans/media for the most part. He was really just suggested we stop putting all our hopes and dreams for the franchise in Oden and move on. “Move on” as in do our best with our current, healthy, talented players and if Oden eventually gets healthy and can contribute, that will just be a bonus. I think he should come in off the bench until he demonstrates that 1. he can stay healthy and 2. he can contribute on a regular basis. This will also take some of the pressure off Oden if the fans/media could calm down a bit about it and not expect so much. I think it probably affects the players as well because they are used to running plays with Oden out there and if he goes down, it can affect their confidence, strategy, attitude, etc. They need to move forward without him and once he can contribute it will just get better. But I think at this point, with REAL games on the line, Oden should have to earn his starting spot like anyone else on the team.

Great post!
Biting sarcasm AND a wake up call for how silly the Oden injury bandwagon has become all rolled into one!

I love to brag
I knew it was sarcasm as soon as I read the first sentence. I am so smart! S.M.R.T. I mean S.M.A.R.T.
