Single Game Ticket Sales
From the Blazers:
SINGLE-GAME TICKETS TO GO ON SALE TUESDAY; BLAZERS TO LAUNCH ‘TICKET ALERT' SERVICE
Estimated 500 seats for each game will be available initially
PORTLAND, Ore. - Because of increased demand for Trail Blazers season tickets, group tickets and multi-game packages, the team announced today that as few as 500 tickets per game are expected to be available when single-game tickets for all Trail Blazers regular season games at the Rose Garden go on sale this Tuesday, October 7, at noon.
Tickets will be available for as low as $10 at the Rose Quarter box office, at TicketsWest outlets, by calling 503-797-9600 or visiting Trailblazers.com.
"Our season ticket base has more than tripled in two seasons," Trail Blazers Chief Marketing Officer Sarah Mensah said, "so fans accustomed to acquiring tickets on a game-by-game basis should be prepared for a much smaller inventory of available tickets."
To assist single-game buyers in locating tickets throughout the season, the Trail Blazers will launch a new service called ‘Ticket Alert.' Ticket Alert will notify fans by e-mail when additional tickets - those held for potential group sales or sponsorship packages - are released for single-game purchase.
Each Monday, starting October 20, a Ticket Alert e-mail will be sent at noon notifying subscribers of new ticket inventory available for immediate purchase two days before those tickets are released to the general public.
The service is available for a seasonal rate of only $19.95, and will also allow subscribers a 10-percent online discount on Trail Blazers merchandise. For more information, or to sign up for Ticket Alert, visit trailblazers.com.
A limited number of season tickets and 11-game packages still remain. For information on those, or on group ticket opportunities for parties of 10 or more fans can call 503-797-9600.
Also, tickets still remain for all three preseason home games. Fans hoping to see their first glimpse of Greg Oden, Rudy Fernandez and Jerryd Bayless can pick up tickets at the Rose Quarter box office, at TicketsWest outlets, by calling 503-797-9600 or visiting Trailblazers.com.
Preseason home games at the Rose Garden:
Tue., Oct. 7 vs. Sacramento 7:00 p.m.
Wed., Oct. 8 vs. Golden State 7:00 p.m.
Sun., Oct. 12 vs. Utah 3:00 p.m.
Also stay tuned within the next day or so for news about Blazersedge Night at the Garden!

I have a complaint
First, we had Rudy introduction day. Airport greeting, press conference, the whole shebang.
Then, KP and Nate and all the coaches get a media day. Hustle, bustle, videos, the whole shebang.
THEN, we have EVERY player go through the cattle chute on their own media day. Interviews, live blogs, videos, audios, articles.
and WHAT did Dave and Ben get? Nothing. No media, no videos, no audios, no pictures. They just slave away and keeping posting news and updates.
Where is justice?

And by nothing, I didn't mean they got no pictures of the players.
I meant they didn’t get their pictures taken. They are the ones always taking the pictures. Who will stand up and take pictures of the picture takers? Who will interview the interviewers?

The SBN bloggers in NY got access and were allowed to make videos (see fanshots)
That surprised me…

We could have done that too
We have the same unrestricted access as anybody at media day. However it’s a matter of diminishing returns. There are so many people there doing so many interviews and taking so many pictures and videos—from the Blazers’ own staff to newspapers from other towns even—what are you going to get? We’d go to all that work for a 30-second, cliched sound byte. When we interview we prefer it to be one-on-one, in-depth, and covering things that you’re not necessarily going to read elsewhere.
Serious props to PostingandToasting though. Not every team is as far ahead of the online curve as the Blazers and it’s a good thing when any online source makes good on something like that.

Posting and toasting is doing it at training camp
That’s something I have only seen on the official website (videos, photos, audio) and on Oregonlive (photos) so far, right?

Portland media
has access to training camp practices, but only the last 30 minutes. That’s where Ben is getting his info and observations. I’m not sure if New York is full-on open or not. It’s darn sure that what PostingandToasting is doing is a big deal for bloggers though.
The only reason you don’t see videos and photos here is because a couple of other people are already doing them and we don’t need three sites doing the same thing. We could take them like Oregonlive or even Casey if we wanted…though Casey does have more constant access because he’s actually employed by the team. I don’t think the first 90 minutes of practice are closed to him. Basically other than the home-grown advantage that team sources have there are no tiers of access among the media. You either have it or you don’t and what you do with it is up to you.

hey norsk!
if you see something that other blogs are doing that i should be doing, please shoot me an email….
that goes for everyone but you especially as i know you follow blogs closer than just about everyone… if you’ve got ideas about how/where we can take our access, i would greatly love to hear them…
last season i asked for feedback a lot and didn’t get much, so if you’ve got some please let me know. otherwise it’s very easy to fall into a routine.
thanks man.

Only 500 per game?
Good thing that won’t make it tough to get tickets. It’s also a good thing i have the ticket page bookmarked and plan to be hovering over my keyboard like a ninja cat ready to pounce at high noon tuesday.

For those with ticket packages
You can get tickets now. I bought a pair of laker tickets and they were literally the only pair in the 100 level available. There were cheap seats or single seats. Not all games were that hard to get but if you are holding out for a laker game it might be hard. The early sale tickets go to quarter, half and full season holders.
When asked about his thoughts during the Olympic games about playing against Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard, Rudy responded "My first thought was respect. My second thought was to kick their ass".
Man I love him.

I didn't hear about the early sale and I have half-season tix.
I must have missed that e-mail or something. But I just sent a message to my rep to add on games. Hopefully I can get them.

Sigh
I’m really happy for the team, it’s got to be great to be selling out again.
It sucks for those of us who come in from out of town and can’t plan so far in advance to buy tickets now.
I guess I’ll take winning games over being able to get tickets 2 days in advance.

Prices
I’m pretty sure, in my experience buying pre-season tickets, that the cheapest of the cheap seats will actually be 13$, not 10$. Doggone inflation, doggone not being able to afford good seats.
