Draft Brandon Roys College teammate!
Im pretty sure if you asked Brandon, If the Blazers have an opportunity to get Jon Brockman would you be supportive of that pick....he would answer 100% YES!
Brockman is the muscle and board banger the Blazers need....nothing fancy....just Maurice Lucas enforcer play.
Look at Kevin Loves stats against the Huskies last year....he stunk!...and part of that was because he was dogged by Brockman.
Thats all I have to say......Lets get Brockman!!!!!!

Um
Actually, the draft won’t happen for a little while, and there’s a few things that many of us are interested in that will happen before then.
And we really kind of have no clue what pick we will have, or where Brockman will go.
And we might trade the pick, because we already have lots of really good players.
And we have a banger in Diogu that is probably better than Brockman and probably will struggle to get any PT.
And we’ll see how Love does this year before I decide whether or not I’m impressed that Brockman helped to hold him done.
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.

I think we're pretty stacked at the PF position
Aldridge > Frye > Brockman

draft talk already?
vote: fanshot
My prediction… this will be the last talk of the draft on Blazersedge or any other blazers forum/site/blog until the second week of June 2009.
Times have changed.

I'm a duck fan and I like Brockman a lot as a college player
He is tough for sure, but he can’t be much taller than 6’6" and he kind of reminds me of a slightly less spastic Mark Madsen.

Yeah, Jon Brockman is a ...
6’7" & 255lbs beast down on the low block who’ll be selected in the second round or go undrafted next year.
As a Husky fan, though, I’d argue that Brockman is very dissimilar to Mark Madsen. “Mad Dog,” who’s 6’9", is a much more active defender with a taller frame; that gives him stronger position against bigger pivotmen in man-to-man defensive sets. Brockman, however, has one thing going in his favor versus Madsen, with that being his ability to bully opponents in the paint by backing down on them and scoring underneath the basket.
Anyhow, the closest comparison to Brockman that I can think of is Craig Smith, who dominated at the college level — as he scored over 2,000 points and nabbed over 1,000 rebounds at Boston College — and has become a useful role player in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves. All in all, I’m intrigued to see if Brockman can one day carve a niche for himself professionally; yet, no matter the outcome, it’ll be a tough road to hoe.

Most roads are tough to hoe
I’d rather hoe a row, if I have to. ;)

If we were to pick up a teammate of his...
… I think I’d go with Bobby Jones.
The guy has a nice skill set and I could see him becoming a tough defending wing with the ability to score. Unfortunately, he’s unlikely to get the PT he’d need to develop with the Blazers. Still, I think he’s one of those guys that just needs to get the right opportunity to carve a place for himself in the league.

Um, Jon Brockman didn't shut down Kevin Love.
On the contrary, it was Brockman’s backup, Russian native Artem Wallace, who accomplished that feat.
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/cbasketball/350801_ubar11.html
Wallace is essentially a low-post defensive stopper for the Huskies, since Brockman is rather poor in that regard; also, the team’s two high-post players, Matthew Bryan-Amaning and Joe Wolfinger, are better used as weakside help defenders instead of one-on-one interior defenders.
