Pre-Season Survey and Gameday Comments
While licking your wounds you might check out this Northwest Division Pre-Season Survey conducted by Jeremy at PickaxeandRoll. Interesting opinions...and more interesting that on several accounts there seems to be general agreement among expert bloggers around the Northwest Division.
Also...I don't feel much like celebrating at all but there were 2732 comments in yesterday's combined Open Thread, which is, like, a ton. Thank you all for participating. I hope we have a chance to have a wide-open, super-fun, winning thread soon. It's always great to be having an amazing game and talking about it live.

I love a freak out as much as the next Timbo
But, EVERYTHING is ok.
Our team will rise, and shine,
but yes, we will definately look bad sometimes…. like last night.

Actually Dave
It’s a ton plus 732
life is like a bank, you can only take out as much as you put in. -Cal Ripken Sr.
Through all of the chaos,
I saw one thing that looked good from portland. We had the ability to come back on teams like the Lakers. Only the half started too soon. We did make another quick run at the end on halftime, but it was quickly taken away. At the end of the half we had the fundamental game back.
Yeah, that was nice...
the intersting thing was though, that those runs (at the end of the 2nd and beginning of the 3rd) were made when we had a lineup we saw a lot of laster year – Przybilla, Aldridge, Outlaw, Roy, and Blake. It makes sense I guess. They need more game time with some of the new guys before we can start to see what we have.

I think reading the pessimistic freakouts in the gameday thread
might actually have been worse than watching the bad parts of this game.

What I would like to hear
Is that the Blazers are having the kind of practices this week like the one they had after starting 5-12 and looking bad against San Antonio, last November. Why wait until you’re 5-12 this year to start getting after it?
Nate needs to nag Steve Blake into “green hulk” mode (throwing chairs around, etc)
Don’t just SAY you were embarrased, DO something about it
SERGIO
Needs playing time ! McMillan… This is our best fast breaker, our best passer… He needs more playing time. Time to develop this first round pick.
Sergio, grab the playing time by the horns.

I haven't been one of Sergio's biggest fans...
but last night we didn’t move the ball we at all (with the exception of some garbage time), except when Sergio was in there. As soon as he came in, we had longer possessions, more passes, better shots, etc…
I was surprised Nate didn’t give him a little more time.

If Oden is out...
If we find out that Oden is out for the year, is there any possibility that he could be next years rookie of the year?
Besides
he’s not out for the season. I won’t pull a fatty and swear off BE for a year if he’s out for the season (btw where the heck is fatty these days?) but really….
Sergio has a knack for making passes that lead to layups and dunks, for both teams. - Ben G.
