Gym rat

I am going GYM Rat this season because I think it is Over Powered, and will be nerfed by the end of the season or at least the start of next season. Most of my team has done the same, but that had lead to a few blow out losses early on as a down side.

correct me if I'm wrong

but our whole team decided against that tactic because we thought everyone else would be going for the other categories. Sooo……. in another 150 tc’s per player, we will have 20 points per game on every opponent going with the gamebreaker and stopper. I think other teams will be doing the same if they’re smart…. but if you’re not, 20 points is going to be alot to have to make up for against your opponent. Not to mention… you could train all you want in gym rat and get your guy to 1000 tc’s…. with 200 tc’s in your desired attribute ( maybe even a couple )… but my passing is already at 300% according to the skill trees with 90 already in shooting ( so I think that is like 360 that it is supposed to be configured to ).

200 tc’s in shooting probably is not going to guarantee you 30 points a game… however, our team has a guarantee of 20 points a game going the other way. We’ll see how it plays out.

I like the idea

of a blend, I’m a point guard so it just makes sense for me to take 150% in ballhandling and leadership, then put 1 in gym rat then move to passing. Even 1 in gym rat can make a big difference without sacrificing your whole skill tree.

Things happen for a reason they say, but I say there's a reason things happen.

ya we will see

I am not saying we are right, our record so far is 0-6 because teams have chosen to not go the GYM rat route are killing us.

However we feel that by going gym rat, it will help us end this season in Pro A, even though we might have a bad record, being in pro A gives you more rating points per game played than being in any lower bracket, which should help us get to the playoffs even with a bad record as the top 64 rated teams make the playoffs. Right now even with that horrible record we are rated #82, so we are not far off. Our idea was that our record should turn around once we all hit about 700 TC’s, (we are about 130-150 away on each player). Most of us have already hit 100 in our 1st priority stats, and are working on secondary stats already, so there is a benifit to it.

Also with Doocar’s recent points about how the sim determines who wins and who loses, we feel that boosting our teams over all leadership, ball handling, and free throws will help us win those stats, and thus give us an advantage over other teams who are solely training their 1 main stat as high as possible. Kaz has said the sim is based around balance, and that the idea behind it is that training 1 of each stat each day is the best way to train, whily giving benefits to those players who train higher timed stats as well to offset. Think of it this way, there are 11 stats in the game, Doocar basically said you have to win 7 of those vs your opponent to win the game, by going gym rat we will normally win FT’s, Leadership, and Ball handling, that leaves us only 4 other stats to “win” for a victory. If other teams have players that are max training shooting, then going down the offensive tree to maximize their shooting, they are only helping their team “win” one stat, while each of our players are helping our team win at least 2 stats.

That is our thinking behind it anyway, we will see if we were right or wrong.

like the thinking

… of getting yourself into pro…. and maybe not to win this season but the next? We initially started with a level 3 goal on all stats but have since trashed that idea. We’re going with balance as well, trying to up each guy to have 5 100 cat’s with nothing being over 130… and given the 150 boosters and the 14 points a game in stoppers, we’re going to try that one this season and see how it fairs. I think that both strategies have it’s perks….. and part of the fun of trying to play the game.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
