Last Chance To Call Your Shot
Since the season begins today, this is your last chance to make any predictions. Once the first tipoff happens you can no longer tell your friends you predicted something before the season began.
Make this the place to officially declare your predictions in a public forum so you can brag about how smart you are in April (if you're right). This post is open to any and all Blazers related predictions, but here are a few for everyone to make their voice heard:
- How many games will the Blazers win this season? (regular season)
- Will the Blazers make the playoffs? If so, what seed will they be?
- How far will the Blazers go in the playoffs?
- How many games will Greg Oden start? (regular season)
Have fun, and make sure you vote in the poll below!

This season will be better than most expect
- Blazers win 53 games.
- Blazers not only make the playoffs, but win NW division, and get 4th seed.
- Blazers go to Western Conference Finals.
- Greg Oden starts in 66 games.
*Also, Brandon Roy is an All Star again this year.
*And Greg Oden is Rookie of the year.
Go Blazers!
Oden only starting for 66 games?
He better start in 82 if you want 53 wins. Also, why not give Oden a bit more love then that for starts. I mean barring injury he should be out there quite a bit and barring serious injury I would forecast 70 + games for him. I personally pick 48 to 50 as I think Oden and Rudy et al. are good for about 7-9 more wins. Of course Martell getting hurt could impact things worse then that.

66 because...
I’m planning for him to be down with an injury at some point this season. But don’t call me a pessimist, I’m predicting 53 wins in spite of that, and they will go all the way to the western conference finals.

The Portland Trail Blazers will finish 46-36 this season.
The team formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics will finish 10-72 this season, as that ballclub looks like complete and utter crap on paper. That’s fine by me, though, for I wish Clay Bennett and his cronies the worst of times.
Sam Presti might as well further gut that roster, with a theoretical trade of Nick Collison and Damien Wilkins to the Indiana Pacers for Marquis Daniels and Maceo Baston — who both have expiring contracts — made to clear future salary from the books.

For the Pacers, however, Collison would form a solid platoon with Troy Murphy at power foward; furthermore, Wilkins would be a steady backup at small forward for Danny Granger, while Brandon Rush could thereby be used solely as a reserve shooting guard behind Mike Dunleavy, Jr.
good year
I said 53 a few months ago on this site, so I"ll stick with that.
That puts them at #5 behind LA, Hou, NO, and Utah just ahead of SA. They get a first round matchup with the Jazz, which they win before falling to the hated Lakers in a hard-fought round 2.
Others:
Oden starts all 73 games that he plays and is rookie of the year averaging around 14 and 11 on the season. Rudy and Oden both make the rookie game and help their team break the Sophomore’s streak in a game that Rudy goes off in (Oden is less effective in that style of game). Brandon makes a return trip to the all star game, and Aldridge narrowly misses due to the glut of good big forwards in the West.
Rule #1 of nitpicking is to get it right.
56
We will be this year’s Hornets, right down to our final records. I also expect Roy to break into MVP talk just like CP3 did last year, and I think we will mimic the Hornets in sending 2 of our big 3 to the All star game (Roy and Aldridge). I am also expecting us to break into the WCF, beating the Lakers in the WCSF as a 1-4/2-3 matchup and losing to the Rockets in the Conference finals.
It will be Roy and
Oden. Aldridge much as I love him is up against way too many beasty Power Forwards although it isn’t as bad as it was last year. I still see Amare and Duncan beating out Aldridge. I think Oden gets his legs under him a few weeks before the All-Star game and will be on everyone’s mind. Yao will still start (Thanks China, did you know there are other players in the league?). Just my opinion of course.

Calling my shot
55 wins, Division champ, 4th seed and we advance to the second round beating the Mavs, but losing to the Hornets.
The season cannot get here soon enough.
55 wins
4th seed.
Young team, how far we progress is a wild guess. We could lose to a far weaker team and beat a far better team. I’ll guess we make the second round. but lose there.
Oden will start around 75 games.
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.
51 Wins
Oden starts in 75 games, missing the other 7 for minor reasons…..a sprained ankle, sore wrist, etc.
Oden will win ROY and will finish averaging 19pts / 10 boards. He will start slowly, maybe 10-12 pts a game, but by the ASG, he’ll be rolling.
The Blazers will finish as a 7 seed and will knock off the Lakers (2 seed) in the first round.
Witty Unpredictable Talent and Natural Game
49 wins
narrowly making the 8th spot in the ridiculous West. First round exit in 6 hard fought grind it out games to the L^%$rs which will only make Greg really mad next year. You…wouldn’t like him…when he’s mad.
