Comcast Update: Wave Broadband Subscribers
If you live in Woodburn, Canby, Silverton, Mt. Angel, Aurora, Hubbard, Sheridan, Grande Ronde, Stayton, Gates, or Detroit--this applies to you.
I've been emailing and calling Wave on a regular basis since I moved to Woodburn in April. I've almost always got the PC "we're negotiating" response. This week, I got something different:
Thank you for your email about Comcast Sports Network. We have been working on getting this channel launched in Oregon for many months, and echo your frustration. The good news is, we will receive the channel on November 1st. It is looking like that is the soonest we will get to turn it on. We are very excited that we will at least get to have it in time for Blazer season!!
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Any news about Dish Network?
"All our holes," says shooting guard Brandon Roy, a surprise All-Star last year in his second season, "are holes that Greg is going to plug."
Congratulation
Enjoy. I hope this is just the first of more access to our Blazers.
"You're really making me feel good about myself, little man," says Oden as he starts dancing after scoring a goal. "You better come harder than that."
congrats
your persistence and hard work has paid off. i’m glad you were proactive enough to keep doing that despite numerous rejections. perhaps others can follow in your footsteps?
that's interesting
I’ve called them as well. I live in Canby but am just a little too far away from the switch to get Canby Telcom’s TV service. When I called Wave last month the guy I talked to didn’t even know what I was talking about re comcast sportsnet. Absolutely clueless but assured me his V.P. would see my request in his report.
I strongly suggested that if they wanted to compete in Canby they better get it fast.
Yesterday I went to their website thinking that would be the place for any new announcements. Wrong again. I should’ve known the place to go was BE.
I’m calling the yahoo’s at WAVE tomorrow. I’ve been a customer before so it should be a simple thing to get it reconnected. I’m not holding my breath…

Grrrrrr....
Why Bendbroadband? Why?
this has been a message from: "The People's Alliance to Keep Comment Boards Sucka Free"
Not enough Blazer fans in Bend?
BendBroadband has been uniquely upfront about the Comcast situation. They published the price increase they would charge ($2.00) the Preferred digital package customers (currently paying about $48) if they added the Comcast channel. So it hasn’t been added. But they said, “However, if an overwhelming number of Preferred customers support the addition of CSN, this will of course influence our decision to carry the channel”, and they invited on-line feedback from customers. Apparently the response from the Bend community has been “underwhelming” or just “whelming”, rather than “overwhelming”. If I were a Blazer fan in Bend I would be conducting a “get out and vote for the Blazers” campaign.

"Fez, the foundation of any good relationship is three little words: I-don't-know.
What're you doing? I don't know.
What're you thinking about? I don't know.
Who's that under you? I don't know. "
