Three Shades of Advice

Here's a little piece over at the Memphis Grizzlies blog Three Shades of Blue.  They wanted to know what might be in store for their young team from people who have been through the young team thing.  This is what we came up with.  You can check it out here.

You have a star who is the first "him" instead of the "Next Somebody Else"

Love that one. Who would you count on the Blazers as having this quality?

Oden is going to be that

in a year or two.

He’s not really a match with anyone else.

The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.

BRoy

I can’t remember a brodcaster saying he is the next anything… They always talk about him.

Nice article Dave

We went like this, he went like that. I say to Hollywood: Where'd he go? Hollywood says: where'd who go?

Definition of Greatness

Not sure I’m right on my source, but for some reason I’m thinking Yogi Bera once said, “The definition of greatness is never reminding someone of someone else.”

Definitely, brandon.

First "Him"

That’s the line that jumps out. Nice work.

Long list of potential candidates, 3 to start and we’ll see who rises (RUDY!?!) – these guys are YOUNG and the development will be fun to watch. Caps and contracts aside, they could play together 10 years and still not be old.

This team doesn’t remind me of any other, either.

Awesome post Dave

You did forgot to mention having one of the richest guys in the world as your franchise owner, and having one of the best talent scout/GM’s the world has ever seen.

Oh snap!

Good advice, hard to follow in patience for the average fan (or GM)

Great post Dave

No comments over there as of yet. You’ve either got them totally wow’d at your insight, or totally flumuxed because Gasol II will not bring them 60 wins.

For the past years, my father and I have NEVER been on TV, not even close. We have such bad luck at games, we never win any of the cheap prizes (not even a chance, never come close) but our luck in the past 2 games have dramatically changed. Last time we got the game ball, this time we very creepily are in the back on national television. I'm just letting the 15 minutes of fame soak in. What will be next?

I also apologize to Martell Webster for stealing his spotlight tonight
