PrintSorry about the tardiness of the thread open for this one. As Ben said in the post below, he's on vacation. I am also traveling, as you know from the radio stint in Portland this morning. Never fear, the thread is up!
I'm still awaiting the extensive podcast we did this morning. For those who can't wait you might check the Center Court Blog for updates. Otherwise I'll post the links late this evening.

Just smuggle in a video camera and a laptop. All you need to do is hook up your video camera to your laptop, pick up on some wirless signal inside the Staple Center, and stream us the game on Justin.TV. Piece of cake…..

On FSN. There was a link to their website on one of the other “gameday” threads.
It could be on there
But my guide is showing a half hour special about Luke Walton at 7:30. I checked there and some of the local channels first, and then League Pass, and then every channel everywhere and couldn’t find anything that could be our game.
It could be on TV though, and the guide is just wrong. Doesn’t happen often, but it happens.
Clippers.com says no TV, but that site doesn’t look all that accurate anyway.
I sincerely hope the game is on the TV box because it is unfair if it is not.

As far as I know...
The game is not going to be televised anywhere, not even in Smell-A. I will keep an eye out and search out my sources for a stream but I’m doubtful that this one will be aired.

Anything to do with a streaming online link should reply to this post so that when people open the thread all the information regarding a link is up at the top.
I’m going to keep an eye on both Stooge TV and Justin TV to see if a link goes up.

It would have to be the likely closed circuit in-arena feed, because it doesn’t even appear to be playing on local LA channels.
That’s pretty dumb, this should be a cool game.
I’d still try to find the game of course, but be prepared that it might not be successful.

Seems strange
that there wouldn’t be interest in this game in LA. The dodgers didn’t make the WS and the Clippers made some moves to get into playoff contention this year.

I didn’t even consider it as a valid concern that the game wouldn’t be on local TV here… this is an intriguing game and I even know quite a few Laker fans going to the game just to see Portland.
It’s just dumb for everyone involved. Well, maybe not bad for the Clippers, since we’re gonna kill ’em, MURDERALIZE ’em!

it seems like Rudy makes things happen in every unit. He just seems like one of those guys who can play well not starting (like manu does) but I think travis has less to offer at the 3 with the starters than rudy does.

I really like the way minutes are disbursed here...
Obviously, I’m a member of the Rex Clan and not the Sergio Clan, I’m not talking about that so much as:
(1) The Center tandem was on the floor more than 44 minutes (which is my pain threshhold). And the result was………… A WIN.
(2) Oden in the 25-30 range, Pryz not ignored.
(3) Roy and LMA also toned down into the 25-30 range; which will pay dividends if the Blazers can do this all year.
(4) Rudy on the floor 30 minutes, which I think is the magic number for him. He had an off night, but that’s neither here nor there. (I suspect he does play better with Sergio than with Rex, at least at this very early juncture.)
(5) Fourth guard minutes were team low — but effective.
(6) Note that Batum may be a starter, but he plays fewer minutes than several of the guys off the bench. Which is the way it should be, I think.

I'm in the Bayless camp as well.
When you really get down to it, he provides more skill sets that this team needs. We need perimeter defense and shooting, and Bayless provides both of those facets better than Sergio does.
I really did like how few minutes Roy and Aldridge played. If we can play like the Memphis Grizzlies of five years ago, giving no one over thirty minutes, we can stay fresh late in the season.
What also seems interesting to me is the number of “microwave” players this team has. As deficient as Outlaw’s game is in some areas, there are nights where he is on fire and is hitting his shot. Rudy, Outlaw, Bayless, Frye… each of these players has the potential to catch fire and pick the team up on an off night. Last year, if Roy or Aldridge weren’t on, we didn’t win many games. I think that will change this year.

They did miss it
It was wierd, because it was obvious Oden scored it and they announced Roy got the points.
This was live, I was at the game.
Oden also had 2, maybe 3 blocks… actual, obvious blocks. Lame they didn’t count!
He blocked Kaman one on one real obviously, so that one at least. And some others on people driving.
The announcer kept calling Batum “bate-um” instead of “buh-toooooom”.
I’ll give more thoughts later. Sloppy game sometimes, but fun. Oden played pretty goodly.

MB's Blog covers it tonight.
“The only other Blazer in double figures was Jerryd Bayless, who got the back-up minutes at the point in this game, and scored 12, on 5 of 6 shooting. Sergio Rodriguez, who by all accounts has won the back up job at the point, got the night off. Given the opportunity, Bayless put together easily his best showing of the preseason.”

It sounds like Sergio has earned playing time, and the last few preseason games give Bayless time to shine.

he’ll never touch Sergio’s minutes. The team is full of scorers, both first and second units, what they need from a PG is someone who can run the offense, create plays and set-up his teammates.
At any rate, it shows how far Sergio has come in the off season that he has so solidly locked up the backup PG spot with Nate that he can get a night off. Not many could have imagined that after last season.

This teams best long term PG
situation has Bayless eventually earning the starting nod next to Roy, and Sergio locking down the backup role with Rudy. Blake based on his limited talent (lowest ceiling) will likely be the one phased out if trades aren’t made.
