Will the Blazers rise or fall?

Will the blazers rise or fall?  Everyone expects alot, BUT will the blazers live up to what everyone says?  I think they will have a worse record then last year 40w-42L. What do you think?  Will Oden be the monster that everyone says he will be?  Or another bad season?  Will the blazers have enought time to figure out how to play together and win on almost every night?  It will be a test this year.  Tell me what you think? lets hope they get it all together.       Go Ducks. this saturday vs USC.  Oregon will win 34-27.

I think they'll do well.

I think they’ll do well. There will be no doubt pressure. After last season expectations will be high. Was last season a fluke or a sign of great things to come? Not sure on Oden. He’ll be good, but maybe not a monster. Assuming they keep the core in tact, I think they’ll do well.

As long as...

They don’t hire JR Rider, Damon Stoudamire, or Rasheed Wallace….. this group will be great for some time.

Seriously keep your duck references off of the BE

I couldn’t feel more polarized by the mention of the words Blazers or Yucks.

In no way would i want fans to some how think that duck fan and blazer fan is in any way related. If it is the case than all Blazer fans are the most extreme Homers in all of sports, and have zero sense of reality. Just because 95.5 talks about the Ducks doesn’t mean they can be mentioned on B.E.

So in case you didn’t catch what I was getting at, please do not ever mention the ducks again. If only for the general publics respect of the Blazers, and not wanting to hurt current fan support.

Sincerely Blazer/UW/WSU/OSU fans

Now if somebody comes on here and starts sayin’ “Go Trojans,” I will join you at battle stations. I don’t mind low level, non-antagonistic cheering for any of the NW schools.

So you think the blazers will have a worse year then last year, but the Ducks will beat USC in SOCAL? I think you should have your head checked. pissed off so what?

it does not mean that if your pissed off you will win. yeah usc is a better team then the ducks but even if they are man it wont help. its all about focus and making play after play. when fedor eliminanko comes to fight he never says his mad. and his challanger always says he will beat the hell out of fedor. and in the end fedor just kicks his a$$. so there you go anger is not the answer.

you need help you just live in a fantasy world. see if you know the blazers are good why get so mad when someone says something not good about them? because you know they are not as good as your fantasy mind thinks. oden, rudy, and bayless have not played a game and you crazy people are already saying 55 wins. dont forget that other teams got better too. its not like the blazers are the only team who has summer league. all teams have it too.

by ducks football on Oct 3, 2008 11:53 PM PDT up reply actions

Is that a question?

’Cause if it is then I have a simple answer for it.

The Blazers are going to rise. It says it on their slogan and I believe it in the very fiber of my being. Plus the Blazers have a few good players this year. Did you see how high that one dude can jump? And that other dude is really big like a train coming at you. There is some potential there, I guarantee that.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

According to James Kunstler, who writes a well-respected if slightly profane financial blog whose title I cannot repeat here, "The Republicans must be clearly identified as the party that wrecked America... it's hard to imagine the American people giving the clean-up task to the very group that created the mess -- no matter how many cute little faces Sarah Palin can make on TV."

by vavoom on Oct 2, 2008 10:03 PM PDT reply actions

I think caution is warranted.

Now, I think the Blazers will exceed last years total for wins, but not by a lot.

Still, when the Blazers are on a losing streak sometime next season (It happens to everyone eventually!) people will pull up this fanpost and think that Mr. Ducks Football is Nostradamus. But people are reactionary, irrational beings. They only see what happened in the last 24 hours. Good ones can take in all of last week.

It’s going to be a roller coaster ride for fan emotion. One moment their way up and climbing fast, another they’re at the bottom of the loop pulling 3 G’s.

If this is how people are, I refuse to be considered one anymore. :P

Ah, so you are above such petty human things as emotions?

Me? I’m jumping into the rollercoaster with a grin on my face prepared to whoop it up and scream at the top of my lungs. I have such anticipation for this season and this team that exceeds anything I’ve felt even during the Drexler era. Win, lose, heck, I can revel in the small things like an Oden mega-slam in someone’s face, an ankle-breaking crossover by Roy, etc. But the tingle in my spine says the Blazers will win more than they lose. They are on the RISE.

Mr. Duck Football is not Nostradamus. No sir.

I’m against bipolar like conditions that fans get throughout the season. But to each their own, i suppose.

Every team he coached performed as expected or better. The worst being his first two seasons in portland. We will improve simply because Nate is at the helm and all the players follow his lead.

Whats up with that

People get mad when you say your opinion about blazers. Its like they are insecure about their own beliefs. In my opinion there are two contradicting ideas. They contradict to some extent. First most fans expect the blazers to win 50 or more games. The second idea is that Oden is going to avg 12 points and 10 rebounds.
I think in order for the Blazers to win 50 games, Oden will have to avg more than 20 points, at least 12 rebs, and 3 blocks a game this season. Who thinks it a given that the blazers wont start out slow a last year, with this hard schedule(upper left corner)? Who says it a given that Blazers will go on a 13 game winning streak? I don’t say that Blazers cant be a 50 win team this year, but it will take everything to be perfect for them to achieve this goal this year. And Oden will have to be a monster for Blazers. I believe that Oden will be a monster this year but somewhere close to the end of the season. I dont know what amount of games blazers will win this year cuz anything can happen, but I think that they will make the playoffs, and if Oden, LA, B-Roy is healthy at that time then Blazers will advance to the second round. I don’t like how people can this blindly accept that Oden will suck this year and blazers will win over 50 games. Those two ideas don’t mix in my head.
