most ridiculous quote of the story (and it is a 'story', you know the fictional kind)
"I’m getting in top shape," he said. "The way we’re running, ain’t nobody going to be able to do too much with me, you know what I mean, because I won’t get tired. I’m going to just play. I have the extra edge. I’m already feeling good out there."
I wont get tired. Uh Huh sure. Just like he’s a better and more efficient passer in the 3 games in which he has 5 total assists, all in the first game.
Same ol’ Zbo.

The best quote though is
The one about Zach not worrying about passing to Jamal or Quentin, because it just means they’ll pass it to him for a 2 on the next play. Sounds really fluid and not forced at all.
I'm pretty sure
Zach said “do to much” instead of “do too much.” I just know that much in my heart.
Blazers Edge has an alarmist vision and a poet's heart.
Maybe he is the new X-man
It has possibilities for Z-bo. I would love to see him reach All-Star status with New York. He provided a lot of bright spots in some down years when he was here. And as for his flaws…well…
A lot of the same things were said about Xavier McDaniel. Yet when he found the team that maximized his skill set, he suddenly became a valued player. Now, on the surface the Knicks hardly seem like the ideal situation for Randolph. But when you look a little deeper, you remember
A) He has ALWAYS been able to score and rebound
B) D’Antoni doesn’t teach defense first
C) Randolph sort of fills the same holes that an old, worn out Shaq was brought in to fill in Phoenix.
Does that mean I expect New York to be good? No, but I could definitely see Zach putting up huge numbers of points and rebounds and, almost by default, even assists when you look at the totals at the end of the year. As much as he is maligned, when he was here in P-town he had some games where he carried us in all 3 departments. The talent is there, if the motivation arrives, look out.
He would not be the first guy to be ball-hogging black hole early in the career only to have a mid-career turnaround. See
Chambers, Tom
Ellis, Dale
Stackhouse, Jerry
Then again…for the view that Zach will always be Zach, see

Ahhh, fall is in the air
The leaves are turning. Pumpkins are being carved. And somewhere, another gullible reporter is writing the annual “Zach’s looking great! This time, he really gets it!” article.
I love the changing seasons.

I'm not voting
You need the option of “Z-bo isn’t back, because Z-bo never left anywhere, because Z-bo never was anywhere.”
Least favorite Blazer ever. Dude would literally walk back on defense.
I cant wait to see Z-Bo defend[?] Greg
But then I cant wait to Greg defend Z-BOZO either

Z-Bo
I would like to see him succeed, but I don’t see it. He is like Rasheed, lots of talent, wants to use it on his own terms. I have serious doubts that he will ever reach his potential unless he drops into the perfect storm like Rasheed did in Detroit. I just don’t see it in New York, not with this roster.

Obviously most Blazer fans
think Zach is worth a vote but not a comment.
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.
Vote > comment
That’s why I didn’t comment until now. Not everyone likes to write 1000-word epistles about why Zach is still the same old Zach or vice versa.
we have A LOT of lurkers.
that’s why about once a week i try to encourage their participation.

Just a comparison worth noting
7’0 man child Greg Oden’s weight: 273
6’9 Zach Randolph’s weight: 260
Z-bo is still pudgy and doesn’t take care of himself. I wonder what his fat percentage is…15%?

"He’s a lot better basketball player than I thought he was," D’Antoni said Wednesday. "He’s good. His instincts are good. He’s fun to be around. He’s a really good personality and he wants to get it done. He wants to get it done the right way."
