I just saw that article too.
Good news for Blazers, bad for Miles. I’m curious if others teams are scouting Darius so they can get him if he doesn’t make it in Boston… Are any teams that desperate?
Jim at Green Bandwagon
has been saying he thinks Darius won’t make it.
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.
If nobody picks him up this year...
but he bust butt all summer and makes a team next year would that affect our financial situation any differently? How long does a player need to stay “retired”?

If he doesn't play this year, but plays next
Then we only have to pay the contract out from that point, his 08-09 salary would be off our books.

Most importantly
He isn’t on our books next summer when we have cap room to sign someone. If we sign someone first, and then he makes someone’s team and plays ten games for them during the season, it just means we’re further over the cap for that year — but it doesn’t hinder our flexibility next summer, when it matters the most.

all interesting...
I find it a bit strange how he currently claims to be 95% healthy, but can barely, perhaps not even hold the 15th spot on the team. When he was 95% healthy with the Blazers, he was really good. There must be some deflation in this 95% value today.
I feel bad for him, as this is probably an unpleasant time.
If Darius
really wants to play ball again he can be the highest paid guy on the bench for some Euro team but no NBA team is going to waste the $ on him

Don't Feel Bad For Darius
He deserve no pity. HE WILL BE MAKING $18 MILLION IN THE NEXT TWO YEARS FOR DOING NOTHING.
He is set for life if he knows how to take care of his money.
And Another Thing
The vast majority of us settled on our careers, far from our dream jobs. Darius had the tools and opportunity to excel at a sport we all love to play for free. He blew it by coasting on just his talents. While all of us still struggle for our retirement funds, he is set for life.
Reserve your pity on others less fortunate.
